I moved to northern VA thirty years ago. Back then, driving around the beltway counter-clockwise you would see the Temple come into view in the distance. A bit further, there was an overpass with SURRENDER DOROTHY painted on its side. Classic.

All - EHRs began via an executive order by George W Bush in 2004. This is not an Obama "new idea" - in fact he's probably incapable of both ideas and new ones at that.

Alex, I believe the answer, in the form of a question, is:
"What is Tweedle-dumbest?"

Thanks, Dude - You may well be the single person on the planet who actually understood my objection - nicely spake (or, rather, typed)

My issue was the 13 words (two hands, 3 toes) quoted - only.

ummmm (counting ... now taking shoes off) ... we hav 21 h3r3

sorry all - 1st post actually pissed me off greatly (Sorry Ben et. al.).
I have no doubt that a mere single valley in CA (water restrictions lifted) could feed the planet.
I do have an issue, though, with blanket statements like the 1st one.

I never stated that "sufficient food did not exist", but that (a negation of) "sustainability is a joke".
It really (honestly) is not.

No, Ben - read what I wrote, and then you may eat your plow in a roux.

"Sustainability is a joke. It assumes that resources are finite. They are NOT."

Right. I live in VA, and the deer population has finally gone back to its pre-colonial numbers during my middle-age.
And bison here and there, though very carefully harvested now. And the dodo and passenger pigeons? (oops)

Orange roughy can finally be purchased or fished again after a mere two decades.
The same goes (more locally) for bluefish, and less so for striped bass.

Sustainability - it used to be called conservation - conserve - to save for later.
I hunt and fish (and consume and conserve)

Go ahead and build food out of metal, you - *snide, obscene adjectives redacted*

WAIT!!!

I only read a portion and I have to object (sorry if this is slam-dunked later):
Science is about observables, measurement and theory. Fact (other than accuracy of observables) need not enter into the picture whatsoever - or even ever!
If a scientist ever utters a description of something as "fact", he/(she?) deserves to be intellectually kicked in the noggers.
