She's definitely not for everyone - the reason I love her so much is often the reason she annoys everyone else haha! I think part of it comes from having too many overly self-conscious heroines, but I'm betting since you read less YA than I do, you don't run into it as often and therefore find Celaena as less of a breath of fresh air than I do. But I unabashadly loved how selfish and vain she is haha

Tiger Lily is just...seriously one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. And the character development, and diversity, and...EVERYTHING. It's just a solid, all around heart breakingly beautiful book. Go, go, read it!

I totally forgot Hugh Laurie was in Sense and Sensibility! I definitely will say that I think you can write off at least some of the attraction to the stubble. He's one of the few people out there who has become significantly more attractive as he's aged - kind of like Robert Downey Jr. Hugh Laurie looks suuuuper awkward in his skits with Stephen Fry (which are hilarious)

And you're right - I would never forgive you haha! No, I totally would...but I'd also tell you that you still have to read Crown of Midnight before writing the series off as a whole - at least depending on what your issues with the first book are. There are a few things that some people haven't like about ToG that I don't think would change their mind with CoM, but they are few and far between. Hopefully you get into it soon! (And I promise I'll still love you even if you end up hating the series <3)

...you really ARE short O.O If it makes you feel any better, I may not be short, but when I see my dad's side of the family I feel TINY. There's literally only one person other than me who's under 6 feet, and she's 5'8. My cousins are botu 6'7! THEY'RE OVER A FOOT TALLER THAN ME! It's weird.
