As far as private detectives, presumably there are laws covering the actions of licensed private detectives. Second, whether or not the woman was cheating is irrelevant - it is illegal to "peep" in windows. Third, wouldn't you like to be alerted that you may be the victim of a crime? Wouldn't want your neighbors to tell you they saw someone looking in your windows, checking doors, opening your vehicle, taking your mail, etc? Wouldn't you want someone to come forward to identify a vehicle after another car backs into yours in a parking lot and drives off? Sounds like this guy got caught, admitted he was looking in her windows and now should accept responsibility for his actions like an adult - even if it negatively impacts his career - he should have known better than to do what he did.
