The offenders in rape cases are mostly from outside Delhi *as you say*, but we are talking about a city that is the capital of India, which represents the whole country. If Delhi is unsafe for women, there have to be reasons within Delhi and *solutions* within Delhi, not the excuse that offenders are non-Delhiites. In this context now, the phrase \\\"Thank you so much Delhi men\\\" used by the author, never says that the person who is at fault is the Delhi man who was born in Delhi or who has migrated from elsewhere. I repeat, we are talking about Delhi the city, and the circumstances WITHIN that city.<br /> <br /> 2) Suresh Kalmadi is from Pune, but again, the site of his scam was Delhi. When we talk about a country, all its parts have similar ratios of clean people and corrupt people. So, if Kalmadi is corrupt, so are many Delhiites, and if some Mumbaikar is clean, so are many Delhiites. Will you, on merely a sentimental basis, deny that Delhiites can not be corrupt? The point is, a city is made by people, and every person is a human on his own, with their own values. Any human society is properly proportioned with the good and the bad. We are not talking about corrupt people here, but corruption. Again, the article is not talking about Delhiites the people being good or bad, but about Delhi the city and the circumstances within that city. The error here is in calling the Paranthe of Nehru\\\'s times also as \\\"shit\\\", which might be careless judgement without having any knowledge of the quality of those times. The writer is not questioning ‘Delhiites eating paranthas but the quality of the paranthas and the ambience. If there is a scope for improvement in both, why not?<br /> <br /> The Metallica concert was held in Gurgaon, but the people who are being commented about (the ones who threw bottles) were not all from Gurgaon. Delhi is the closest metro city, and it is I believe, natural to assume people from Delhi formed the majority. Again, it is to be noted that behavior of people could not have changed merely by crossing the Delhi-Haryana border. If anything could have changed merely by crossing that political border, it would have been the setup and organising of the event, (since in that case Haryana authorities would come into the picture), BUT that is never the thing being criticized. The comment was upon the people throwing bottles.<br /> <br /> Lastly, the article is an opinion and flow of thoughts—a set of observations made for the sake of expressing disappointment rather than for the sake of expressing ridicule or criticism.
