TheDestinLog.com : LETTER: Destin tourist worries about Corexit | destin, corexit, letter - Opinion - TheDestinLog.com

There have been tests done that have shown both oil and corexit compounds in Florida Beaches. What's sad is that little to no media coverage has been given on the horrible truth. The reason why Destin didn't get hit by oil (just tar bars) is because BP used dispersants, that are toxic at parts per million, to sink the oil, elsewise it would have destroyed FL and headed up the East Coast. We will never know the full truth, but people from FL to LA are suffering skin lesions, internal bleeding and other ailments related to oil and toxic exposure. Just because you can't see oil or toxins in the water or along the beach doesn't mean it isn't there, that is basic, common sense.

TheDestinLog.com : LETTER: Destinite tells meat-eaters to open their eyes | vegetarian, letter, meat - News - TheDestin

I completely support this article, and although I have never been to a slaughterhouse, after watching the devastation caused by a Corporation (maybe you've heard of it, BP) in the Gulf. I no longer trust corporations at all nor will I ever feel safe or good about eating meat, produced on a mass scale after reading reports of the treatment of those animals. I mean don't we reek enough havoc as is without creating life purely to destory it by some of the cruelest means possible? This writer even admits that he longs for a good piece of meat, but encourages people to buy from ethical producers. Thanks, Destin Log!

The OIL SPILL is to blame, not the media. This is the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history. You should be more worried about the fact that the spill hasn't been stopped than what kind of turn out there was for Memorial Day weekend. This is a terrible situation, people have every right to be upset, worried, and looking to the media for the TRUTH. Money won't matter if they don't stop the leak before the Gulf becomes inhabitable.

Winter Is Coming : Quick hits: castle set, scheduling conflicts and signs

Why in the world would they spend a bunch of money to construct a castle for the Eyrie? Which is barely in the books, except for a couple of chapters. Plus, the Eyrie is in the Mountains not a stepped cliff. I put money on King's Landing, that is where the most action takes place of all the castles, plus you got the water to think about. This spot works perfectly for what I envision for King's Landing.

I know exactly how you feel Kelly. Destin is one of the most beautiful places in the world and this is a very scary situation for so many reasons. Down with BP.
