But at the same time, I don't think this is a team that needs a big "WIN IT FOR COACH NORM" kind of speech before the game. These guys have proved in the first two contests that they are methodical pros on the field, and this game will prove it to the rest of the country. Putting up a great D night with Norm in the hospital is simply a given that doesn't even need to be mentioned in the locker room. Very much looking forward to the game. Delta's pricing to ATL from CID is also the same as from MLI because DL knows passengers will drive an hour and 30 minutes to MLI if the fare is significantly cheaper. However, if you check fares at an airport with no non-stop competition to ATL, the fare is significantly higher. Delta's fare from DSM to ATL is $442 round trip on the same dates, using the same equipment. Why's that? Well, folks in DSM don't typically want to drive two and a half hours on I-80 to CID to fly anywhere. So, the price goes up. I wouldn't knock MLI or AirTran (or the writer's example of a similar sized airport with an entrenched low-fare carrier). Plus, Delta and AirTran have been in a fare war for a few years now anyway ... why else do you think there are about 500 seats a day between Moline, Ill. and Atlanta?
