Daily Camera.com: : CU-Boulder students: Tenured professor Patti Adler being forced out because of prostitution lecture

I could see how the skit would maybe be offensive to someone who was the victim of sexual violence. That being said, if I remember correctly, there was fair warning that the skit was coming and that attendance wasn't mandatory. Just imagine loud music and her TAs dressed in stereotypical prostitute outfits. So you have everything from "classy" escorts to "trashy" street girls being dragged around by a pimp. Objectionable? Probably. Stereotypical? Yes. Worthy of being fired? Not in my opinion. Regardless of my feelings on Patti, you should be able to push the line a little in a college course.

I agree as well. I took her class as a sophmore, maybe junior after everyone convinced me it was the best class at CU to take. I'm liberal myself so I didn't mind her bashing of conservatives so much haha. But, what did I learn? Not much. For those of us who don't live in a bubble, none of the material in the class was that groundbreaking. What's worse is that because she lived with a drug dealer 30 years ago and turned it into an academic paper and apparently "invented" this subject of deviance, she couldn't stop patting herself on the back. The constant peddling of her book left a very sour taste in my mouth. Fortunately, I went with an old version and had no problem accessing the one updated article. I never in my time at CU saw another professor try so hard to make me purchase the new copy of a textbook.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Football: CU Buffs\' Mike MacIntyre still evaluating current staff - Buffzone

Al kind of seems like he was surprised. That's usually what happens when a new coach takes over an underachieving team. I'm not saying that all of the coaches on the previous staff are bad coaches, some like Tui, Cabral, and Kennedy would probably warrant consideration for a position on the new staff, but new coach almost always equals new staff.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : George Solich has plenty say in next CU coach - Buffzone

"Solich is the only person involved in the search for the next coach who won't really have anyone to answer to" That includes you Ringo. What he does with his own money is his own business, I'm just glad he chooses to invest it in CU.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Football: CU Buffs offer coaching job to Cincinnati\'s Butch Jones - Buffzone

I think this would be great hire for CU, especially with the money they are talking about spending on the coaching staff and facilities. I hope to god this works out or else we'll be somewhat embarrassed. Have to think we have Mendenhall or Derutyer in the back pocket so we could quickly name a coach if this falls through.

I think Dillon is considered a leader of the team, especially with the younger players. Also, maybe irrelevant, but Dillon, as mentioned in the dp, chose CU over Cincy so he might have a relationship with Jones prior to today.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Football: Butch Jones to visit CU Buffs Monday - Buffzone

According to rivals, Embree's classes ranked 74, 36, and if you count this year (technically haven't lost any commits yet), currently ranked 64 behind such powerhouses as Tulane. That's not exactly what I'd call good recruiting, especially considering the best class has a somewhat inflated ranking due to signing 27 players. All things considered, it's not terrible recruiting, but is, at best, on par with recent Cincy classes. I think that's where we went wrong with Embree, we figured his recruiting would make up for his inexperience.

The ultimate catch 22, you must win to recruit and recruit to win. This is actually why I think butch is a good candidate, wins with less than spectacular recruiting classes. Like his former player, Derek Wolfe on the broncos said, he gets the best out of each player, something neither Hawk or Embree was able to do.

Woody Paige is reporting that we are on the verge of offering him $2.7 million a year. He seems to actually have the best sources inside the search right now, called our interest in Butch before anyone else and now has what sounds like pretty solid info regarding his visit to Boulder. http://www.denverpost.com/paige/ci_22112982/woody...

I guess I'd be happy with either one, Mendenhall definitely just came out of the blue though.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Jon Embree: Probably still have job if white - Buffzone

Well Embree just ensured that he won't get the second chance that he said was the major racial barrier for black coaches earlier this week. The more he speaks, the more I realize that we made the correct decision on this one, absolutely zero accountability on his part. The national media isn't doing us many favors by giving Coach Mac a soapbox, but at least most, like Fowler, are pointing to the results on the field as the real reason why Embree is looking for a job now.

A similar thing happened when we hired Boyle, the players threw their support behind McClain (number one assistant at the number one team in the country btw) and Bohn went the other way with Boyle. The players all seem to love him and it didn't mean anything once they became acquainted with Boyle. We just need to get a new, qualified coach in here asap to clean this mess up.

Needed to happen in my opinion, couldn't just let him clean house with assistants. I lobbied for it, but it's not a happy day for buffs football.
Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Football: CU Buffs\' Jon Embree turns focus to recruiting - Buffzone

The somewhat ironic thing is that Embree complained about the lack of talent left by Hawkins. Now we're seeing the same recruiting spin, star ratings don't matter, we're confident in our evaluations, etc. This class is shaping up exactly like Hawk's last class. Three or four players with some bcs offers and the rest are jumping on their only pac-12 offer. We're suppose to be confident that Embree and co. are finding fifteen diamonds in the rough? Say what you want about star rankings, sure some four stars don't make it and yes some two stars will, but realistically any coach in the country would prefer to be recruiting the high three star and four star players compared to the low three star and two star players we have now. This has lame duck class written all over it, might as well just make it a transition class and hope to land a few players that had given up on us (Parsons). I'm somewhat resigned to the fact that Embree will be back next year, i think it's the wrong choice and will set us back further. However, if we are switching schemes and keeping Embree, might it be prudent to let the recruits know where we stand with the assistant coaches instead of waiting a week or two or three. I'm still disappointed and confused as to how we let a coach just fire some coordinators, throwing them under the bus for his own job. Doesn't it start at the top? And, what qualified assistant is going to want to join him for a year on the hot seat? Tedford? I'm sure he'd rather sit around and count his $7 million than join this train wreck.
