Big Hollywood : PTC President Tim Winter: The 'Snooki Effect' Is Real - And Devastating

The 'Snooki Effect' did not start anything - it's an extension of their hippie parents. Snookie, et al, have parents that grew up in the 60's and early 70's - right in the middle of the sexual revolution, the pill, women's lib, war protests, etc. These are the chicks who have come home to roost. And FYI, the BS these kids are doing is being done by hundreds of thousands who visit the Jersey Shore every summer for decades. We are only getting a look at 8 of the transient visitors on TV.

Breitbart.tv : Ron Howard And Jane Lynch Want To Pay More In Taxes

Mr. Howard says that we look nostalgically at the 50's and 60' when tax rates were as high as 90%. One thing that he omits is that there was a SLEW of tax shelters that brought your tax bill down. The simplest for the 'regular folks' that still made it into the 80's was the deductability of interest charges from all sources. Tax reform in the mid-80's wiped that out with hundreds more loopholes like it. So, he can't just throw out a number like 90% without citing what the EFFECTIVE tax rate was back during the same period. Just a thought, where do Mr. Howard and Ms. Lynch stand on tax credits for film and TV production?

Big Hollywood : Why Modern Hollywood Villains Stink

As a fan of psychological thrillers, I was impressed by The Omen (1976). The movie cost $3 million to produce but they spent an equal amount to promote the film. While a bit dated and cheesy, it was a classic battle against pure evil wrapped in the innocence of a child. Great film.

Breitbart.tv : SNL: Fox News Attempts New Civility

I usually TRY to watch SNL despite it's political bent, but this year has been rather unfunny. Seth Meyers' explanation of the 2nd amendment was a rather feeble attempt to 'educate' us.

If you read Greg's scores of music and movie reviews over the past 2 years, you would know that he is a) an ardent country music aficionado and b) a thoughtful movie reviewer. His past work has been fair and unbiased. I cannot say the same for some critics-tuned-political pundits, like Roger Ebert.

Parcbench : The Tea Party's Suicide Mission

Steve, while I disagree with Mr. Morrow, in response to your comment is that if you are referring to President Obama, we WAS electable and proven by his current position. I believe that our citizens are so brainwashed by the media's influence, ie: 'he/she has no hope of winning in such a heavily Democrat state', they they give up without even trying. We are seeing the diehard partisans falling to the independent voter, and that independent is falling more to the right of center. The political analysts are going to have a heckuva post-mortem on November 3rd.
