Yeah, your solution is oversimplified to the extent that I feel it is barbaric in nature. The example you have taken to justify your statement is operation of Price Mechanism in a market place. So you mean to say, male infanticide should take place?

And more over, people have come to realise that Price Mechanism or a Two Sector Economy or a Capitalistic Economy are only fit to be on paper and it doesn't happen practically. I don't feel it is correct to seek the help of an economic theory to resolve this problem. Some or probably most of the economic theories are not relevant for today's world.
