Kia ora whanau, (I've posted this in reply to a few people but also wanted to let the rest of you know. We did see David Farrar's comments on Kiwiblog about Mana's Treaty Settlement policy. I posted this in reply to David's allegations (ON KIWIBLOG) but clearly David doesn't think it suits his agenda and will not approve my comments... sad really as I would have thought that the truth was more important... :( So we noted that National supporter and New Zealand Herald reporter David Farrar called the Mana Party out for getting a key Treaty Settlements policy point wrong in his right wing Kiwiblog. Fair enough, except when I pointed out that it was my mistake (via comments on his blog) I noticed that he didn't approve my comments (BUT he approved comments made AFTER mine), making me think that it actually suits him to run the story as it is. So just to make things clear, this is what happened: I (who content manage Hone’s two websites and coordinate his social networking campaign) simply loaded the wrong draft (i.e. not the final one), I got a mean growling for it, uploaded the correct version, end of story. So whanau, do be sure to not read too much into it, it was a silly mistake and I take total responsibility for it. The correct point is as follows: “Remove the Deadline for lodging of claims which was imposed for 1 September 2008 and extend the timeframe for the settlement of historical claims with the Waitangi Tribunal to better enable iwi with such claims to properly research and state their cases.” * http://mana.net.nz/policy/ for the full and correct version. Check out the screenshot for more details: http://news.tangatawhenua.com/wp-content/uploads/... This link shows a screenshot of my comments (being held for moderation) while comments after have been approved. I submitted my comment twice... :( asking him to consider letting people know what really happened... Nikolasa Biasiny-Tule TangataWhenua.com DigitalMaori.com

We had a great question come in from Facebook, asking, who holds the samples, for how long and what happens to them. We found this info, which if very helping: Yes, you can ask for your baby's blood spot card back after screening is complete. If you would like to request your baby's blood spot card, please download and complete the form below and send it to the laboratory. You will be sent the top part of your baby’s blood spot card with the specimen collection paper holding the blood sample. Download the form 'Return of newborn metabolic screening samples (guthrie cards) to family'

TangataWhenua.com : TangataWhenua.com's Neutrality | my thoughts on it anyway...

Kia ora Ripeka raua ko Gina, thanks for sharing... ae, we have been disappointed and that sadness and frustration has gotten the better of us at times, we were with the Maori Party from the very beginning, we were at the hui at Waititi Marae when we asked Pita to stand with us, we started the first student roopu in support (the Tauira Movement at Waikato) and were at the launch in Te Tai Hauauru then shortly after celebrated Tariana's win in the by-election (we were with the ropu that stayed at Ratana Pa). Interesting thought that this was never an issue when only the Maori Party existed and when we staunchly supported them, no one seemed to question our "independence" - not being at all sarcastic, just a very interesting point... (Potaua worked for TMP in Parliament) ... it's only been since the split that things have changed... BTW and to be fair, only I am contracted to work for Hone (not TW.com nor Potaua, just me personally), Potaua ultimately has editorial control (i.e. he can delete my shit, lol). I guess the way I see it is I wouldn't work for Hone if I didn't believe in the kaupapa he stands for, so from my perspective at least I am comfortable with my decision. and ae, we look very forward to the day that we can run TW.com full-time simply through the revenue it creates and have not outside contracts... one day....

Ms Katene - actually it was 1/3 of the comments which were deleted, brutal and harsh is fine (read through ALL Hone's comments and you'll see that this has never been an issue - we never moderated before this, and allowed 99.9% of comments to stay). but when a few people spam the site (I can see everyone's IP addresses) then they do not represent anything, just someone being needlessly irritating). This section is for commenting on the Party Name, if people want to talk about something else, then they can, just in one of the other forum (it's standard netiquette). No reira, Mauri ora!
