Consider the Navy, there are numerous reports of whales dying from low frequency sonar in the San Juan Islands and around the globe. It is not just the ships; aircraft is responsible too! Aircraft on Whidbey Island alone in 2006 burned $8 million in toxic jet fuel each year. The Navy has expanded with even more aircraft. The unused monthly fuel allotment is dumped in the air. Does this fuel contaminate the water? You can smell this fuel it is like kerosene. The noise from aircraft could be a menace to the Orca as they are sensitive to loud noise. The noise is so horrendous you can’t even talk on the phone. Why is the military free to pollute the environment? Housing for the Navy on Whidbey Island is limited contributing even more to pollution as personnel cross the 1938 Deception Pass Bridge from the mainland to get to the base. Those who love marine life should demand an investigation and remedy to the pollution of the Navy. CLOSE NAS WHIDBEY SAVE THE ORCA
