The movement started in '07 was co-opted in '09 by "mainstream" republicanism. I have no qualms with our local republican creed -- they just don't follow it and only pay lip service to it! Ron Paul himself has nothing to lose -- he's always stood against the establishment and if people choose to take it out on Rand and he's unable to make a name and a stand for himself -- so be it! I do not like the libertarian label, but the more I think about it -- I am a "liberal" conservative. I am capable of making my own choices even though they are not the same choices someone else may make for their life. I've made personal choices in all kinds of circumstances that some may not agree with; pro-life v. pro-choice, marriage v. divorce, drugs and alcohol vs. none... I think the federal government has a role with limited power, but that local governments should have the maximum amount of power that the people allow. In this sense, Ron Paul is RIGHT ON!!
