I certainly don't find living among sinners objectionable Art; I am a sinner (saved by grace). Again, Jesus was not interested in setting up an earthly kingdom, so His concerns were in addressing the issues of our individual hearts and our relationship with Him. My concerns for our culture/society and this issue are centered around the future generations that will be forced to live with these decisions. But you're right, we Christians shouldn't get to attached to this world as it is not our real home. Thank you for your 'kind' wishes. :-) No pain to speak of really - just the challenges of living this life He gave me amidst people that don't believe in Him and reject His gift. Best wishes Art.

Dragnipur, you need only accept Christ as your personal savior. After that, you're in! John 3:16 The thief accepted Christ on the cross.

Art, Paul clearly mentions homosexual behavior in Rom 1:27. While you are correct that Christ didn't specifically mention homosexuality, rest assured that He spoke about adultery and lust of the heart many times. What is at the heart of homosexual behavior? Without a doubt, we all struggle with sin; lust is a constant struggle for me but I am fighting it. We just can't simply stand by and watch a great nation like this circum to the devils tactics; we have to fight. "Resist the devil and he will flee from you" James 4:7 Again, we are not fighting against people, but against the enemy. Eph 6:12

I once believed that homosexuality/gay marriage was no big deal... but then I accepted Christ and He changed my way of thinking. (Rom 12:2) If you've accepted Christ, you know what I mean; if you haven't accepted Him, then you won't be able to grasp it until you allow Him to work in your life. It's hard to explain in an online forum, but when Christ takes over your life, your world view changes completely. On this subject, I believe if Jesus were walking amongst us, He would most certainly speak to this as sin. However, He'd do it in love because He is love. And we must remember that Christ did not come to establish an earthly kingdom - His kingdom is not of this world. Gay marriage is just another ploy of the enemy to take us away from God. But Christ already crushed the devil on the cross! All the devil has left are these little tricks he plays with us, like "civil rights."

Good points. I do hope that whoever we choose as our next President will correct the health care deficiency in America. No doubt people are making difficult decisions based on a lack of health care. My grandmother is spending a lot of her SS check on her meds. However, we need to also remember that those of us who have good health care really don't want to hand-over the reigns to the Gov't. They have a hard enough time managing everything else; the deficit, immigration, foreign policy, etc. I hope they find a compromise that works for everyone's needs. As far as the tax-cut goes, my wife and I, who would be considered middle-class, felt like the Bush tax cuts were adequate for us. We didn't need anything more than we received. And quite frankly, I'm at a loss when I hear people complaining that the middle-class is somehow forgotten by the Bush administration. I think we've done just fine. We need to be complaining that our Gov't is not taking care of the poor Americans instead, and asking our middle and upper-class citizens to give to the poor.

Amen! And I felt like today's messages at the DNC had nothing to do with 'change'. Sounded like all the other partisan political speeches; Democrats this week and Republicans next week. I thought Obama was going to stand for a better, cleaner campaign??? When are we going to see real change?
