Paperboy & a few others that leave such negatives comments in my opinion are jealous of the love a Newf. gets and can give, they themselves have never had that kind of love given to them and they don't want anyone else to receive what they have not been given. WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND 10 FOLD. You will answer someday.
JUST A DOG. you say, sounds like to me that you don't have any feeling for yours even though you say you love it. my dog plus my cat are treated as members of the family, the cat is a complete indoor cat and the dog (A Newf) never spends a night outside, she is never outside without us, know why because she is a part of our family and she wants to be with us not left on her own. Wise up, either love your dog or put it into a good home where it will become more than "JUST A DOG"
It's obvious to me that you are not a dog lover, I would hate to have my dog around you. If you do own a dog I feel for it, because it sure does not sound as if you would be a responsible owner, more like an abuser. Go learn about different breeds of dogs, especially the Newf. they are GENTLE GIANTS. I don't live in the US but I think what we have here is a trigger happy finger, a cop wanting some fun. Poor Rosie.

I want to post another here, not all of you are dog haters I can see that and my previous post was for the one that were saying it was the owners fault, I think he was posted in as Paper boy. Learn about different breeds and their behavior Paperboy, maybe some day you might need a GOOD GENTLE GIANT - NAMELY A NEWF. to save your life.
I can't believe some of the things I am reading here, it is obvious to me that most of the ones that posting comments are not animal lovers, that is why we have vicious animals because of the way you treat them. It is not the dog, it;s the owner. Maybe a few of you should start watching Cesar Milan the Dog Whisperer, as he says, there is no such thing as a bad dog just a bad owner and Rosie was not a bad dog nor were her owners bad. Newfs are gentle giants. I have one and had another who was so wonderful she got inducted into the Animal Hall of Fame, what for you ask, well she saved me from drowning and all when she was afraid of water because she nearly drowned herself when she was a pup but when "Mom" was in trouble there was no hesitation. Some of you people need to do some reading and learn about dog behavior and type of dogs. The cops need to be chastised for this, they did not have to shoot her, she was already in pain from the tazer. For the love of God where is your heart?
