Believe it or not, there are more of the right kind of people who will take care of kids, than the evil ones that will hurt them. Most strangers when they see "lost" kids want to help, not harm.

Dad sucks.

I've often wondered about this place as I driven past while on the Toll Road. What a wonderful gift to the kids from that area.

Officials with the Department of Child Services said earlier that although Shaffer was not a foster parent, she had passed a background check before the child was placed in her care.

She was related to the child, state officials said.

Ok, I'm probably going to get nailed here, but here goes...

Sometimes if there is a change in routine, you can forget things. Yes, even babies.

Several other cases of babies being left in cars happened because there was a change in the usual routine- last minute switch in caregiver, etc.
Yes, it's terrible this baby was left in the car, but it isn't necessarily a criminal act.
(putting on my flame proof suit now.)

BTW, I'm a mom to 4.

Hadn't heard about the ice cubes down the toilet, or spinning around 13 times. My kids do the inside out pjs and spoons, though.
