This post is just to bring "Hope for Haiti Now" to everyone's awareness in case you have missed it somehow. My wife works for Disney in the reservation center and Disney is one of the big call centers set up to handle donations for Haiti relief. We are in Orlando and just about every station is carrying the live telethon starting at 8 PM EST. Please tune in and follow your heart. I think it is awesome that an event like this is taking place in response to the tragedy in Haiti. MAYBE we have finally come to a point in our collective consciousness to express compassion to all those who so desperately need our help. Hope Brian and Vishen do not mind me posting this. Just though the Tribe should be aware ... : )

What a cool idea! I'd definitely make reviewing all the big ideas a daily ritual if it was staring me in the face first thing in the morning.

FinerMinds : Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind By T. Harv Eker — Day 6 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

Wow! This one hit me right between the eyes and it stings so good :) I've always been a big dreamer, but have not been CONSISTENTLY COMMITTED to taking the Massive Action necessary and staying the course until I accomplish my most important goals in life. My dreams are so big that rather than being motivated (in action), I often find myself discouraged and frustrated (stuck). Rather than the dynamic tension inspiring me to take action towards my huge goals, I stare dumbfounded at the size of the GAP between where I am and where I want to be. WHY? I realize now that with a few brief periods, I have played life NOT TO LOSE (fear of failure) rather than PLAYING TO WIN (progressing confidently in the direction of my dreams). Ironically, as a result my thoughts have predominately been on what I DO NOT WANT (current bitter fruit) rather than what I DO WANT (sweet nectar of life). Like Brian, I too want to develop the "Wealth Consciousness" that acts like a magnet and creates a continual flow of abundance into all areas of my life. To do this, I'm COMMITTED to getting sweaty and stretching my comfort zone daily. Really pisses me off that I have made my problems bigger than I am! So true... NO MORE! I will be bigger than any challenge that may temporarily cross my path. I WILL stay committed to Diligently, Consistently, Patiently and Playfully working towards the BIG LIFE I envision. I've spent the better part of the last 3 years trying to figure out why I have not achieved the level of success that I aspire to achieve. I have a much better understanding now, but it is time to live the wisdom. Knowledge without Action is Powerless. Knowledge with Inspired Action is Wisdom. Wisdom is POWERFUL Stuff!

FinerMinds : Ask And It Is Given by Esther & Jerry Hicks — DAY 5 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

I too was a little freaked out about the idea of channeling a "non-physical entity named Abraham". Glad I got over it though. Abraham is one enlightened non-physical entity! The wisdom conveyed in Esther & Jerry Hicks' works is life changing regardless where it originates from. Esther delivers it in a way that captivates your attention has no fluff and goes directly to the bullseye. What a great visual to understand the LOA. How can we expect to receive the life we want if we are tuned to the wrong frequency most of the time? I really like Brian's approach to tuning in. Meditation and Gratitude are my personal favorites, but the important thing is to consciously and consistently shift your thoughts away from what you do not want to what you do want in your life. Love the example of calling customer service and pre-paving the positive end of the call before the rep even picks up. This would be a great practice for just about all encounters we have in our daily lives. Expect the outcome of every interaction to be a positive one and most probably will be. Really diggin the Challenge! With much gratitude and respect to Brian and everyone in the tribe committed to playing full out! Jeff

Chris, Thx for the feedback. It is interesting that thoughts becoming things is at the philosophical core of personal development. Old school examples are Think and Grow Rich, As a Man Thinketh, Science of Getting Rich, Man's Search for Meaning and many many others. It is very empowering to become aware of this universal law and practice applying it to life. It also carries with it a great deal of Response-Ability :) I like Mike Dooley's mantra "Thoughts become things, so choose the good ones!".

What an awesome book. Read it years ago and its time for a re-read. I see many powerful parallels between 7 habits & 4 agreements. Both emphasize always being impeccable with our words and living with integrity by always doing our best and honoring our commitments. If done properly, this will allow us to live primarily in Quadrant II the happiness zone. Private victory always precedes public victory is big for me. Reminds me of Ruiz advising us to not be concerned with the opinions of others. Brian's reference to Pavlovian Dog's reminded me of the fact that my domestication often causes me to react rather than to be proactive and response-able. I also got that we need to be action oriented by beginning w/ the end in mind and taking action towards that goal daily all while enjoying the journey. Putting first things first is necessary for us to do our best. Think win/win allows us to operate from the positive perspective of a creative rather than a competitive mindset. Seek 1st to be understand is the link between win/win and synergy. If we can understand the other's perspective, then we can create a solution that we both benefit from. When we do this, we not only win, but others associated with us win as well. 1+1=3+. My specific mission in life is to enjoy the journey to the fullest and positively impact all those that I am connected to...

FinerMinds : The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz — DAY 1 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

How true... Simple, Powerful, but takes a strong Will to live by. I'm in complete agreement with all Four Agreements. I find them all very empowering by putting me in the driver's seat of my own life living with INTEGRITY - impeccable with my word, CONFIDENCE - not being affected by the opinions of others, CLARITY - by communicating & not assuming anything, and being PROACTIVE - by always striving to do my best in everything I do no matter how big or small. Its also nice to know that it is normal for my best to vary and that being my best does not equal being perfect. I can certainly relate to the domesticated animal analogy too. I am ready to go WILD and take back internal control and guide my own destiny by being responsible RESPONSE ABLE for everything in my life up to now and from now on. Who's with me?
