I don't understand what any of this has to do with racism. If you're in the US legally, fine. If you're not in the US legally, you're an illegal alien. Has nothing to do with race.

The terms of mortgages are laid out in their agreements. If you fail to meet them, the bank is under no obligation to do anything for you. You're either late on your payments or you aren't. It doesn't matter if you've had generations of your family living there. You don't get to have something for nothing. I'm actually more PO'd that I've paid my mortgages on time since day one and can't refi nor take advantage of loan modifications because of LTV. Where's my "loan modification"?

Where was god when the accident happened in the first place? Too quick to give "god" credit for all the good and none of the bad. Kudos to the real heroes - the bystanders. They get all the credit. God had nothing to do with it.

A relationship with anything that's all consuming isn't healthy no matter what the intoxicant, be it cigarettes, alcohol, or pot. Alcohol and cigarettes are *ALREADY* in the hands of the government, so that's kind of an empty argument.

Uhm, no. If I have an industrial job, like crane operator, truck driver, or anything else where my work cannot be impared, I will be fired. It doesn't matter if I have a prescription or not. The point is intoxication is intoxication.

They're all drugs whether or not they are abused or mistreated. Anyone who smokes cigarettes habitually is a drug addict (nicotine). Anyone who drinks alcohol to an intoxicating level on a regular basis is a drug addict (alcohol). Anyone who smokes pot habitually is a drug addict. The point is, it makes no difference what the drug is. Abuse is abuse, whether or not the drug is legal.

Might you care to state why you think it shouldn't be legalized? I support its legalization. As an aside, I completely agree with your reasoning about restricting it to certain areas. Pot should not be smoked in public places due to its intoxicating effect, and you are correct they don't have the right to subject others to second hand smoke.

No, nor would I want them to be drunk, either. Or high on over the counter drugs, either. What's your point? That suddenly if pot were legalized that everyone would be stoned all the time? Using that logic, that means because alcohol is legal that they'd be drunk all the time. Why would you worry about one intoxicant vs. another? None are acceptable.

"It is a major drug of abuse," he said. "People ask me what the most dangerous drug is, and I say marijuana. Other drugs have serious consequences that are easy to recognize. Marijuana saps people's motivation, their direction. It's a drug that makes people stupid and lazy. That's in a way more dangerous." As he says while smoking cigarettes (drug) and drinking alcohol (drug). Not that anything that a drug czar from the Nixon administration would really have much in the way of modern day perspective, however...

"I can't think of a reason not to have it all in one place," I can think of a reason if it's in the hands of government. Government should be in the business of doing things the general public can or won't do. Alcohol isn't one of them. Now it's in competition with local businesses.
Yes. But this is not a newspaper and there's plenty of room for the word "being". I just found the dropped words amusing. As an example, there's an article above that says "Mark Zuckerberg May Not Even Need A Prenup". The word "Even" isn't necessary, so it's not like they're hurting for page real estate.
