Is that me you're talking about up there? LOL I second the review here - IMGrind is excellent. Registrations are closed for the moment, though. You snooze, you lose.

Mr Green : Affiliate Networks - The Perfect Solution.

OMG - The "offer pending approval" message has got to be the worst buzzkill EVER. Its like the power going out in the middle of your favorite game. There are networks where ALL the offers need manual approval - They are the LAST network I will reach for an offer when I'm putting something together simply because its a pain. When I'm building a campaign, I want to do it once and launch it - I don't always know what I'm going to do so Its not like I have a clear plan. Usually I'm putting things together at off hours, my AM isn't on, or they are doing something better than twiddling their thumbs. I understand the risk thing and quality - there's got to be a better way, though. On most every single network if you have to submit a request, then you can't access the tracking links - that stops me dead on my tracks as I NEEED the link be it to post the campaign on the traffic source, to save the thing on my tracking platform, or even to not forget what the heck I was doing. There is tremendous value in getting things done when I'm sitting down to do them, and not the following day where I have to spend twenty minutes trying to figure out where on the process I left off.

How To Make Money Online : And You Thought Only Affiliate Marketers Lie...

Jonathan, what's right is... debatable. Take a look at the first chapter of "All Marketers Are Liars" by Seth Godin - His chat about the famous wine glass maker is brilliant. In a nutshell: If your story (this phone has IntelliAcceleratorX found on an alien spaceship) makes the customer actually perceive the benefit, then your marketing claim is actually making the product better, move valuable and desirable - Nothing wrong with that. My recent post The One Word That Is Holding You Back

NegBox - Internet Marketing Adventure : Five Hosting Tips for Newish Affiliates

Joseph, as long as you can control how much CPU you get and how much bandwidth I don\\\'t see a reason to move. I tried DreamHost\\\'s VPS offering and you could not control the CPU (they would only tell you the amount of RAM) and were not terribly helpful when I needed MySQL to support partitioning, so I cancelled that. The amount of CPU is an estimate (1 Gigahertz is just a measure of frequency, not of compute power or I/O power). I\\\'d stick with brands you\\\'ve seen before. My suggestion of Rackspace is solid, a bit on the expensive side, though. You can also check out vps.net - amazing offering but its not managed from what I remember. Best suggestion is to test it. Almost all the companies will give you your money back if it doesn\\\'t work out. Another thing you should could into is using Amazon\\\'s CloudFront to store your landing pages, or at least any graphics in them. The graphics on this blog, are all coming from CloudFront. I talked about how I\\\'m using CloudFront on the post titled \\\"How to Accelerate your Site to Warp Factor 9.9 without paying $99 a month\\\" here: <a href=\\\"http://negbox.com/how-to-accelerate-your-site-to-warp-factor-9-9-without-paying-99-a-month\\\" rel=\\\"nofollow\\\">http://negbox.com/how-to-accelerate-your-site-to-...

Mike, for price check out their online calculator here http://calculator.s3.amazonaws.com/calc5.html Its very complete. Its in the same ballpark as any traditionally hosted solution for most intents and purposes - you're not going to rack up a $3000 bill unless you're running animoto.com - Which runs entirely (rendering and everything) on Amazon's cloud. I saw your post on the PPV view rates - I was thinking of you when I wrote about the PPV mavens. :) ... This may be a dumb question, but... Are those analytics for PPV view rates javascript-based? If so I've heard its a good idea to compare to good ole AWstats and other log analysis tools. Speaking of BlueHost... Damn... I just Googled "Bluehost CDN"... They integratred CloudFront within four months of release and it is a push-button integration - not all this stuff I just did. I smell a trial migration coming at least for one site.

NegBox - Internet Marketing Adventure : Googlehack Tracking202

You're probably right, it isn't secure - at least not against a determined attacker. I personally don't have the skills to crack open a server like that... I do know nothing is really secure given enough cash to hire the right folks, which isn't really that much considering exchange rates. I'm all ears open to suggestions on the tracking aspect. Develop my own stuff? Fly blind?
Yup, this is the one. Its a brilliant format - Interactive, and quirky. Extremely engaging. They say the porn industry is usually two years ahead, they might be right... I recently saw one for a site called "getiton.com" or something like that where there was a gal that would undress while asking you questions, lol.. Similar to this but not quite as refined.

NegBox - Internet Marketing Adventure : Are Non-techie Newbies Doomed?

You don't know what a relief your comment is. I was starting to think I'm a mega-retard. I try something simple: "Hey, lets add an e-mail list here"... Sure enough I've never ran an e-mail list, but how hard can it be? Then it takes me a week. Three days to get the content half-straight straight, two to sign up to aWeber to nail all the pages and forms, and one to glue it all together with traffic... Only to watch it do nothing on the seventh day... Almost biblical.

NegBox - Internet Marketing Adventure : The Hangover

Gotta see it. There are a few movies that capture the essence of something... Lost in Translation captured the essence of traveling for business and feeling totally 'misplaced'. This one captured the feeling of waking up in the morning and going "WTF happened here?" It also captures the "Who are who are these people that keep talking to me about last night like I'm their rockstar buddy?" About the "Girls of Negbox" :) . ... It makes for great watercooler chat: "Talking about losers, this jackass I used to read now posts naked chick pics along with marketing stuff - talk about trying to sell with sex... What a loser." I can't claim originality of the idea, though - I believe I saw it done before but I couldn't find it - and no, it wasn't "Naked News". BTW, if you look like McLovin... then you DO look like the dentist!!!
NegBox - Internet Marketing Adventure : Frivolous Virtual World Lawsuit du Jour

We ought to place little signs in hospital delivery rooms: Warning: Life is a contact sport. There's always going to be abusers - Its a very perverse industry where lawyers are judges, plaintiffs and defendants (and lawmakers!) and essentially take you to their ballroom dance - like it or not - and they're not cheap dates - You're paying! ... Its their ballroom (they call it courtroom), its their dance (they call it trial) but its your wallet! Pretty wicked. As with everything - there is a balance of power... Where it gets to technology and marketing, its their checkbook, my ballroom... And my huge dick ready to screw *them* over...
NegBox - Internet Marketing Adventure : I Hope Google Chokes on an Antitrust Investigation Soon

Mike, I think we're talking about different stuff - The API fees are what they charge to access your campaign using third-party tools - Like Tracking202 Pro. Unless I misread their guidelines, they already use quality scores to move your cost-per-click up and down. I seem to remember a video from Google explaining that. Your conclusion is still right, though: Google wants to scale by not spending that much money supporting small advertisers. Step back for a second and think about that model... Its the exact freaking opposite of the successful Web 2.0 businesses, which finance themselves with the top of the food chain and enable the long tail. You can't entice the "Long tail" advertisers by slapping them with fees!

NegBox - Internet Marketing Adventure : How to Find a Good International / Offshore Hosting Company

Its not THAT diabolical. It isn't porn - I get too carried away to do that - it isn't warez or virii. Its just grey area and I prefer to stay on this side of trouble.. There are just too many jerks with too much time on their hands and not enough Viagra hand cream... So it makes sense to take a little caution. Plus the folks I'm hoping to take over on SEO might not like it. But hey, its all fun and games... :) BTW, I finally found a host... I'm paying about 5x what I would be paying stateside - so this shit better work. Now! LOL!
