Do wat gemcosta said the old baseband has this problem people at 05.11.07 do not have this problem so it has to be a BB issue.

Well Apple being a multi billion dollar company sure does a piss poor job of testing firmwares before they are released they should get most of the bug fixes right the first time I know that not everything is going to run flawless but they need to do a better job and ya the BB 02.30.03 sure sent people up shit's creek didn't it it was a 6 month block for unlockers that updated or got one with the updated firmware on it so you can't tell me that Apple isn't doing the things they do to target jailbreakers or unlockers cause if you are you are lying to yourself.

Use itunes 8.2 not 9.0 9.0 won't let you go to anything other than 3.1. Since you have an iphone 3g not 3gs you can always downgrade to 3.0 or 3.1.

Ya but they are pissing off people anyway they constantly release updates at least every other month and a lot of times it is bug fixes they should spend more time in fixing the bugs in the first place which indicates they are either lazy or they do it to mess with the jailbreaks, we all know how Apple hates jailbreaking hell they even want to make it illegal so I take the latter of the 2 reasons of why they do what they do.

I can confirm for people that Apple is still signing the 3.1 firmware for 3gs users that are on stock 3.1 and don't want to update to 3.1.2 I am restoring mine now although it took a while when it said verifying restore with apple got worried for a minute :). I think Apple will keep signing it until 3.2 is released they did this when 3.0.1 came out allowing 3.0 to be restored until 3.1 hit.

Of course I think that apple half asses the firmwares so that gives them an excuse to come out with a bug fix for the next firmware when it should have been there in the first place.

Cydia always will show the lowest ECID on file so if it says you have ECID 3.0 SHSH on file you also have a 3.1 on file saurik confirmed this on his twitter. Once you get your first ECID cydia will automatically get the new one each time a new firmware comes out so you don't have to manually do it everytime

The baseband is the same as the 3.1 firmware and the new carrier setting supports mms without having to do carrier update separately in itunes.
