Bentley, Noble and Nolan are all slow by modern day standards and with Lansbury initially playing off of Baldock and Cole we were over run in midfield. When we went back to 451 from an initial 433 we still struggled to get people up in support of Cole which is why in my view as the game progressed we went more and more route one. Couple fo observations, firstly if bristol are going to be that poor all season I am not sure it will help Spence's development. He appeared to be on his own at times when they were under pressure. Secondly Maynard. Whilst he scored an ok goal his work rate and general attitude was poor. In comparison to Earnshaw and Miller who are older and possibly past their best he was very much 2nd rate.
