West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Ipswich

For me last night it was to a degree new players still finding there way that caused us to under perform but the selection last night left us lacking in pace in midfield to support Cole. Bentley, Noble and Nolan are all slow by modern day standards and with Lansbury initially playing off of Baldock and Cole we were over run in midfield. When we went back to 451 from an initial 433 we still struggled to get people up in support of Cole which is why in my view as the game progressed we went more and more route one. In saying that we will improve when players get more used to each other COYI

West Ham Till I Die : Results: Player Performances v Doncaster Rovers

Was at Cardiff v Bristol C yesterday with a welsh mate and saw Spence and Maynard. Couple fo observations, firstly if bristol are going to be that poor all season I am not sure it will help Spence's development. He appeared to be on his own at times when they were under pressure. Secondly Maynard. Whilst he scored an ok goal his work rate and general attitude was poor. In comparison to Earnshaw and Miller who are older and possibly past their best he was very much 2nd rate. Wouldn't want us to sign him if that is a typical day.

Honest interview by the manager on WHUTV. Overall a solid performance I thought but just a bit tepid upfront. The new players looked ok and for a first game we seemed to of gelled. Downside, Ilunga and Green will both know they could of done better for the goal and for me Sears looked lost particularly when he had the ball. I would of had Barrera on for him much earlier. No point in bitching, its early days and lets be honest we had more chances on goal in one game than we saw in the whole of last season. COYI

Can't help feeling that Big Sam is the new Lou Macari. Lots of posts saying on here that we dont care about the style, just get us up. Well we were never happy with Macari's different style were we? In saying that though I do think his strong man management and discipline will be of great benefit to us because that has been missing for years and that may just swing my thoughts.

I wouldn't play any of the players who are on loan or at the end of their contracts on Sunday and play the kids instead. As far as the management team goes I would go: Manager - Hughton Asst Manager - Dicks 1st Team Coach - Keen Goalkeeper coach - Ludo Hughton is more likely than O'Neil and is a vastly experienced coach and the other boys have the passion

West Ham Till I Die : Result: Player Performances v Blackpool

I would hope that defending a lead and dropping deep won't be such a problem now that the team has a recognisable shape to it. The solidity of having O'Neil protecting his fullback gives us a much greater chance to defend and smother a team than we have had so far this season. This obviously has to be as part of a balance of attacking and defending. It was good last night to finally see us leave a player up when Blackpool had a corner, which is something we've rarely done this season and has compounded the pressure we have put on ourselves in previous games

When your subs are a guy who has to wear a name badge because no one knows him, a fat bloke the other players have seen in the canteen and a bloke who gives Lord Lucan a run for his money for all his disappearances from the side it's no wonder we didn't win. We have been in decline as a club for a number of years and are suffering the consequences of the current and previous 2 owners

West Ham Till I Die : Match Preview: West Ham v Arsenal

All I am saying is the constant chopping and changing of manager rarely works. Only the clubs with plenty of money succeed when doing this like your Chelsea's and Man City's. Don't want us to fail but am craving consistency. My 9 year old has seen something like 8 managers including caretakers in his life time. I'm 44 and up to him being born there had only been 5 in my lifetime. During the last 9 years we have become a yo-yo club, with an FA Cup Final and teetered on bankruptcy via three sets of owners. If it is to be O'Neil then lets hope he stays, uses the academy which he failed to do at Villa and we get back our reputation of playing good football and lose the headlines that have followed us in recent years

We never sack managers - really We listen to the fans and are open and honest with them - when In reality we have owners playing with the club and we appear to now be inheriting one of the most volatile managers in the game whose success is based on spending shed loads of money and winning trophies in Scotland. Look at the state of Villa since he left. I am not posting this as a defence of Grant but why sack him now. 1 loss in 7 and semi of the Carling. And why let the story out on the morning we play Arsenal. Should of kept Zola and our owners are tossers of the highest order.

West Ham Till I Die : Wayne Bridge Deal Is Nearly Done

Whilst I know we don't have a regular, solid performer at left back this season I have doubts about Bridge. My mate who is a Man City season ticket holder says that he is very slow, particularly when getting back from a forward run. He is 30ish an has been happy to sit on his wallet at both Chelsea and Man City as better players push him out of the starting XI. I hope I am wrong but I just sense another over paid, over age player joining in the same way we have Upson, Macarthy, Dyer etc already. I would rather we give youth a chance

West Ham Till I Die : Editorial: I Regret It's Time for Avram Grant to Go

I was born in 1966 and in my life time we have had 12 managers (inc. Keen and Brooking as acting manager). Of those 8 have been during my eldest lads life, he is 9. I long for a return to stability, players coming through the academy (only 1 in the starting 11 on Saturday) and going to a game with atmosphere, not booing. I don't post this as a solution to the current garbage we are being subjected to but whatever we do I want my club back. Passion, Pride and Commitment is all I crave, as a season ticket holder is that to much to ask?

Anyone else agree with me that Boa Morte is doing a job for us. He is obviously playing because there is no Hitz however apart from the occasional wayward pass I think his aggression and willingness to get stuck in is serving us well currently. It also allows us to play 3 in the middle when needed and provides Dyer with the freedom to play in a fairly free role Stands back and awaits lynching
