The present regulations will allow about $1000 per day for institutional care, but nothing for home based assistance. They are seeking ALTERNATIVES that are less costly and less restrictive. If you have visited as many nursing homes as I have, you too would be seeking a way to get community based support instead of going there. It is also MUCH LESS expensive.
