Jeff Namnum : It's Never Just The Data

I know what you mean Mike, and I think it's the great challenge and the great opportunity of the moment: filtering the data intelligently. Tough one, because there's so much of it coming at us, but I'm excited to see the solutions coming.

Jeff Namnum : Fad-vertising

I\\\'m with you on that Katrina. And it\\\'s a shame because there are great uses for them, just takes a little imagination. We\\\'re in the middle of producing a campaign for a client to drive ecommerce growth by engaging their in-store traffic with some clever signage and QR codes. Also, we\\\'re putting a QR code on a highway billboard we\\\'re placing for them (jk).

Absolutely Paul. Data's a tool and tools are awesome, but someone's got to know how to use the tools, and when to put them down in lieu of other tools.

Jeff Namnum : Free T Shirt!

I think I'd be more surprised if Google was not working on framing a new future for banking. I'm not sure I can see a clear path to making everyday transactions using data, but certainly things like location data in exchange for cell phone data. It will be fun to watch it develop (and maybe to jump in and push it along).

Jeff Namnum : What You Don't Deserve

Pete, you're a trip brother :) I'm with you on all these things and I appreciate the love, especially from a good friend. I hadn't intended to be harsh (although I am to myself sometimes), but to call to attention to myself and to anybody reading that there are some things beyond the realm of how awesome we are. For example, you're right about Ruby, she wouldn't have settled (and lemme tell you back in college, I had some competition). But in a million years I couldn't have orchestrated all the events that conspired to bring us together. It's the gift of having gotten access to that woman in the first place that I couldn't have deserved. For me it's always been people at the center of my life, but let me give you a different example. We're both American men, or maybe more to the point, we are not women in a part of the world where women are treated as contemptible objects. That's a huge gift, that we really did nothing to deserve. Gratitude for that gift that can't be paid for (who would you pay) is the feeling I was trying to get to. Make sense? BTW I'm totally using that title for a post.

Social Media Monitoring and Engagement - Salesforce Marketing Cloud : Social Media Content: Finding Your Voice

Great piece Trish, thanks! Just took on a new client this morning so this is a very timely reminder. I agree with you that it's important to think corporate culture and existing audience demo when building (and refining) your brand's voice, but I'd like to offer one more thing to consider. It's important to get to know the culture of the platform. When considering voice, we should also realize that each platform, whether major (Twitter, Facebook) or niche (EDChat, Tennisopolis) has a personality and with it specific 'quirks'. Without taking time to get to know those quirks, our chosen voice, even if it matches our target demo and corporate culture, can be entirely ineffective.

Jeff Namnum : Are you Influential?

Always the people Trey, 100%. You are one of the people who's taught me that. I will never forget the respect you gave me when I was lucky enough to have a few minutes to speak with you live. You made me feel like an important person in that room, despite the fact that there were plenty of other people there who were actually important from a networking & potential revenue calculation. I then watched you do that with every person you spoke to whether CEO or brand new solo-preneur. btw I think there's value to Klout (and PeerIndex & Traackr, etc) even beyond the building of a list but I'll talk about that in a post I'm finishing up later, would love you thoughts if you have a minute.
