Being open about being a jerk actually is honest and it's something I can deal with, but people who are "just being honest" usually make my skin crawl. Please keep yelling -- I think setting standards about this kind of thing is a good precedent.

Ha, they really are the best source material. And regarding them as entertainment makes receiving them far more pleasant.

And I'm with you -- that first message doesn't have to be finely crafted prose that required hours of thought and effort. No one has time for that. However, it does have to be at least a little bit personal. I want to feel like the person writing to me wants a date with me, not just a date with anyone with a pulse.
