Here's the silver lining in it all - it was absolutely necessary for the Dems to have another crack at the Whitehouse, so Thank You! They are now being exposed in full view of the American people and perhaps the rest of the world for what they really are - their agendas, their logic, and their inability to lead by example.
I was not a Bush fan and I was not a McCain fan either, but I am in no way an Obama fan. And in case you feel the need to consider me a racist, go ahead because I really don't care. But you should know that I would have voted for Colin Powell in heartbeat - integrity, leadership, experience and he served our country and he would have been the first 100% black American to be elected President (at least as far as I know). Why he got behind Obama at the last minute is beyond me.
The silent majority has been taken for granted for far too long and by too many people who feel the need to suppress others by having them become dependents. The government is to irresponsible people as heroin is to addicts and it looks like you are becoming hooked.

Interesting; it is apparent that you felt it was time for change when Bush was around. Your thoughts were probably just as reckless as the ones you are criticizing. You stepped up and did something about it.
It is clear that if you put enough effort into something, the possibilities are endless - look at how Obama was elected. If enough people can be united for a cause... well, you see what can happen. A great many of those united people had no idea what they were voting for, but they did so anyway. The Republicans, for some reason, did not put in nearly as much effort as they needed to in order to win the election - a huge underestimation and a huge lesson learned. However, given the poor ratings of Bush and the candidates who were running, I'm not so sure the Republicans could have won this one with any amount of effort....

"The flyover was simply a flyover, just letting us know they are there..." - agreed, but they did so because they knew we would do nothing - as usual. So, maybe the next time they come knocking on our door to see if we are home, we should open the door with an unarmed SAM or maybe one with a paint-based warhead. Remember Oddball from Kelly's Heroes? Either way, they'll get the message.
