My husband and I live below our means and have for many years. I hardily recommend it! With that said, however, I think it would be a good idea for all high up government officials to take a pay cut along with all the CEO's of all these struggling companies. If we have to sacrifice to get through this, then everyone and I mean everyone should join in. I don't mind sacrificing to help others, but everyone should be involved. I also think, that we need for President -elect Obama and Congress to work and take care of us - the citizens of the United States for a change. Since Bush has been trying to "run" the world he has really neglected his own country. I know this economic down turn is hard on many, many people, but having President-elect Obama in the White House with his down to earth attitude and thoughtful and deliberate ways will be a big help in getting us through this. But everyone will have to be patient and pull together. I am sure that many positive things will come out of this negative situation. Perhaps it will help people realize what the important things in life really are.

I haven't seen anyone mention anthing about what doctors and hospitals are paid. Personally I think doctors are overpaid and hospitals charge way too much. Health care would probably be more affordable it these issues were discussed and dealt with. I'm not opposed to anyone making an honest buck, but you have to agree that doctors and hospitals make more than is necessary to live a good life. Also I think we should look to the countries in Europe and see how their health care is set up and use that for a template for setting up something in this country. Now is the time for people to give a little for the greater good of all.
