It's kinda true though when you think about it. Yes, raw only gets around 3 million viewers, but the fact that they never seem to fall outside the top 5 cable programs every week means that there's actually less cable subscribers out there (so it's more of a cable subscriber issue, not necessarily a WWE issue). Also, WWE's youtube channel is the 4th most viewed channel in the US, which would suggest that WWE viewers are just getting their content elsewhere other than TV
people are way too focused on the low rating part of the article...did you all see the last sentence at the bottom of the article? it says..."RAW was #1 on cable for the night in viewership and #1 in the 18-49 demographic"
That means viewership is down across the board, across all channels...which is why RAW was number 1 for this week
WWE is absolutely on fire with hiring these correspondents. I wouldn't even know who to pick between Cathy Kelley, Renee Young or this girl :/
I mean, the show was sold out, in which case, I blame the people who bought them for the sole purpose of reselling it. Besides, Largo is 120 miles west of Orlando, which I don't technically count as "nearby"
Anyway, it seems more people showed up as the tapings went on
it was competing against game 5 of the NBA finals (a potential series clinching game, plus the game gathered enormous buzz after Draymond Green got suspended)
it's hilarious reading the comments on here. It's like people don't realize they have a choice on whether or not to watch 2 WWE PPVs per month lol
its funny that this article here talks about newly scheduled nxt live events, but then a few articles after this one on the main page is an article speculating the end of nxt the brand...bc triple h renamed the 6/8 takeover "the end"...
I dont think the wwe is "pulling the plug" on nxt. They've invested far too much into it for them to pull the plug
Vince's shares are different - they are Class B shares and each share has 10x more voting power than regular WWE stocks (called Class A). If Vince sells his Class B stock to anyone, they revert to a Class A stock, effectively making it impossible for anyone to buy him out (which is the genius of this really)
