Soap Strat Blog : Coke make a college campus love them! - Soap Strategy Blog

Also the giant inflatable coke thing looks interesting. I'd have a go and it's the size to get you impact. Much more fun than the Pepsi find $250 cash promotion although cost is probably a lot more.

Soap Strat Blog : Understanding Your Guests - Soap Strategy Blog

How do Disney know how far part to space the bins? Research, testing or is that just a blogger Hyperbole? I understand what Chris is saying but like we discussed isn't this obvious? It's good to know your audience. Ok so my better homes and garden site will have content about....... homes and gardens. My music site will talk about ...... music. Wow. Im guessing Disney spend a shit load on actual research and reporting on their users. They don't just guess what people like. Wouldn't having good tracking on your site and regular checking of that let you know what people like. What was your most popular post for 2008. What was the least. Why? and take those learnings and adapt your site. So in summary hehe I like what he says but he offers no real advice that anyone could use. He's just analyzed his blog and hopes this will apply to everyone and every situation.

Soap Strat Blog : Please Help Us Help Daniela\'s Family - Soap Strategy Blog

Could charities do the same by picking one family and helping them out? This thing would get old quickly. All that good will could have gone to a fund for abused women or to a charity that accepts regular donations and made good for many people over many years. With this they helped one family get back on track. Sad as it was I'd rather donate to Oxfam.

I think it's legit, it's a whopper not fire or the wheel :) What I like about this and Whopper Freakout is that it could work for so many other brands and products. It instils a big original idea.

Soap Strat Blog : Education

I hope school isn't like TED. Invite only and $10,000 a seat! Ouch :) But I know what you mean. I wish school taught me about managing my finances instead of learning algebra (i didnt as I did simple maths) or taught me more about how to be a good citizen or how to get a job than why the Great Wall Of China was built and who Anne Frank was. School awards those that can remember a lot of information. With TED I think all schools should screen at least 2-3 hrs a week of documentaries or TED like talks to give kids a greater world view. Imagine kids coming home and talking about Globalisation than talking about how they learnt Pythagoras theorem.

Soap Strat Blog : Why the Four C\'s of Community Require the Commitment of Many - Soap Strategy Blog

Great article. I like this comment "Connectivity as the most important "C" in your list." haha connectivitty is important to a community!! haha It's like saying the meat is important to a good burger. But less cynically I like the idea that community is the new CRM. What an easy way to explain it to a client. I did find the pampers site hard to navigate though? What about you Ross. You're a new dad did you find what you were looking for? Great idea though as parents on the web is a huge market. The comments on this article are good too. What I would have liked from this is some learnings from the guy on Pampers. This is a fluff piece to promote his own work so why not offer some insights into what has worked and what hasn't.

Soap Strat Blog : What can we learn from radio... - Soap Strategy Blog

Perfect summary and it's funny I'm not sure this correlation between radio and online has been made before. In Indonesia I noticed almost all of their shows 90% were Indonesian. Very little western TV. And so many of the shows had people phoning in answering questions for prizes and what not. Your point on radio being the only medium with so much user participation is dead on. Love Song dedications is huge and that's all there is. Why isn't there a love song dedications on TV? I think this is a good idea to share with clients that you don't need a huge budget to create content. You just need to make shitloads of it. Some still stick some wont. 90% of what Hamish and Andy do and say is boring and unfunny. It's the 10% they are known for. Like any good (well maybe bad) photographer knows you take a lot of bad photos to get good ones. Clients seem so scared to make anything online that they don't do anything and if you go by the 90% shit ratio then if they only do one thing chances are it's going to fail.

Soap Strat Blog : Uncle Tobys, Coca-Cola, Kellogg\'s and Nestle in web warning - Soap Strategy Blog

What a sensational and 1 dimensional article. No examples, no URL's, no solution offered. Just a "Oh big companies are bad" and that's it. What are the "World Health Organisation guidelines" I can't wait until news sites start to really link their articles up and provide a proper resource than just treating the web like a digital newspaper. soso.org.au (started by Profero) has an opportunity to start a COPPA styled system in Australia. Shit we could put an initiative together and get some beefy government grant but it's something that requires a lot of time. The reaction from brands as we've seen has been to just shut down anything aimed at kids in a scared response.

The house party clip is a big celeb fest? I'm confused why this is meant to be such an amazing campaign? I couldn't see how to make my own story on Facebook? I think you had 3 stripe coloured glasses on :) hehe There's nothing here that's special or amazing. The blank shoes they sold with paint pens (adicolor) a few years back was more interesting. I do agree that the Adi Dassler animation is great. Really sells their heritage well but I can't embed it! I cant comment I cant do anything with it besides get it as a screensaver?!
