Here's why. Yesterday MORNING it took me three hours to get from Bonney Lake to Puyallup. 410 was a war zone with 4x4's even stuck. My MB had dash lights flashing and it's stability control just barely keeping the car in shape. I got off the hill only moments I believe before it was unusable. Then to 512 where it was shutdown to address the 9 cars that were spun, stuck or slid off the highway. Why? Because DOT got another surprise snow? No. it snowed the day before. I saw no plows out there until after it was a nightmare. De-icer at the very least should have been applies to the major routes the night before. Yes, Seattle failed. AGAIN. Oh, and did I hear that DOT was not going to work throughout the night to keep the roads clear because of budget shorts? They actually said that all they had left was $300k.
