Well said . I refused to vote Tory at the last election for that very reason.

Yes women make up 51% of the country but only 10% of the applicants to be candidates (Admittedly that figure comes from 2015 but I have no reason to believe it has changed ) so in a fair world one would only expect around 10% of MP s to be women.

But surely foreign aid money comes from the taxpayer so it would come from the very same people who now have to pay the licence fee. But without the option to refuse to pay.

" Who can blame them ?" I can ! If they want "good " jobs they can work hard and achieve. Fifty years ago the Ugandan Asians arrived with nothing but the clothes they were wearing Within a generation they had integrated and become in the main white collar workers. Its all a question of attitude.

There were race riots in Singapore in the 1960s, As a consequence a good deal of effort is put into managing race relations

"Its a feminist issue " No its a human rights issue but if only men were involved no one would take any notice. Men are disposable but women's safety must always be prioritised

I'm not sure why the writer thinks that there is a "feminist " element in opposing slavery. I am tempted to think that he knows full well that if only men were involved then nobody would give a toss. After all until the early 1960 s men in this country had to do compulsory national service and in many countries they still do . If that isn't slavery what is it?

up tick Thank you for writing that and saving me the time. I suspect that the writer is a product of the Tories (unofficial ) policy of selecting women candidates simply because they are women and therefore has a vested interest in promoting a politically correct agenda,

Its nice to see that the writer is aware of husbands beating their wives. If that can be eradicated then that solves half of the problem.
