Sorry guys, I'm not the most technical. I'm on 02.11.07.

I have been using a Rebel Sim Card to unlock my iPhone. The Rebel Sim only works with firmware up to this update.

I'm asking because I want to upgrade to 3.0, preserve the baseband (and the rebel sim hack) - and then do software firmware unlock friday. Will somebody confirm whether or not this is possible?

Will quickpwn/pwnage tool allow me to preserve my baseband version when I upgrade to 3.0?

Will the jailbreak allow me to update firmware, but not baseband? (I'm on iPhone 3g) I need to stay on 2.1 baseband, which I have been preserving through updates via pwnagetool since that release.
