No. That is Surenos who are big in central Washington. Certainly not MS-13 which has been overblown by the poorly informed media. Research the Surenos. Your 13 is from SUR-13, blue is their color, etc. They are a growing scourge in the worker communities in central and eastern Washington.

Those cities are all part of the Coalition of Small Police Agencies (CSPA) and have a multi-agency investigations team. So yes, detectives from those agencies were called out for the investigation as part of the team.

Actually, Kenmore JHS is within the boundaries of Kenmore and Northshore Fire. Lockwood ES is in unincorporated Snohomish County (future annexation zone of Bothell) and serviced by Fire District #1 and/or 10, NOT Northshore Fire. While the share a common border, they are actually in two separate counties and eventually two separate cities and fire districts. And I know Terry. He's a he and a Batt Chief, KOMO.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Capitol decor includes tree, nativity scene, atheist sign | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

Wait a minute - Freedom From Religion, an atheistic organization, reminds folks that the tree commenorates the Winter Solstice, a RELIGIOUS holiday that those in the neo-pagan community (like me) can and do celebrate. Oddly enough, it's a religion, albeit an old one. So we have this organization reminding folks that it is actually another religious holiday later co-opted by another religion (hey! We can share) but its a religious holiday that we should not celebrate, as it is religious in nature. And here I thought all the fruits and nuts merely existed in a fruitcake.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Workers warn of problems at Brightwater | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

Oddly enough, those of us affected by Brightwater both directly and indirectly raised these safety, health and environmental concerns. The good folks at Brightwater sluffed them off, saying it wouldn't happen. Seems the little people knew more and were sadly right in the end. As a property owner along Swamp Creek, I am profoundly disappointed at King County's actions on this. Our creek is nearly dead as an aggressive salmon spawning stream. These sorts of things don't help. There is a reason why there is a large wood fence surrounding the tanks at the Kenmore Portal. They don't want you to see what is going on behind.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Proposed new jail sites stir up controversy | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

The property in Bellevue makes sense as the entire eastside and Northlake areas need the location that is close and easy to drive to (presumably servicing Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, Bothell, Duvall, Carnation, Redmond, Bellevue, Snoqualmie, North Bend, Newcastle, Mercer Island and Seattle). The property in Shoreline is the former Kellogg Middle School which is a collection of decaying buildings no longer in active use. Jails are not necessarily scary places. This is evident in the Issaquah City Jail which actually exists beneath the Issaquah PD building or the Kirkland City jail which also exists in the bottom floor of their PD. Or even the Lynnwood city jail attched to Lynnwood PD building. At some point, a jail will need to be built. The question is who will get it built and who will have more sway and money with the council. I'd expect Shoreline would get the short end of that decision even though the location is not the most central (but certainly enticing to Shoreline, Bothell, Kenmore and Lake Forest Park).

Indeed. What this means is that those locked up for misdemeanor crimes ranging from traffic offenses like DUIs to Domestic Violence cases wil not be booked into RJC or KCJ. Where do they go after that? Do we PR them as we do many of the times now, because the cost to book into KCJ or RJC is too much? Do we arrest a DV suspect, only to kick them loose because there is no way to book them? Most municipal courts place convicts and prisoners into lockup into jails in eastern Washington as a means to save taxpayers in King County money. KCJ, on average, charge $40 or more per day to house people there. Both Yakima and Chelan counties do a fine job at transport and housing. But you can't expect a car from King County to drive all that way to book a DV arrestee or repeat offender DUI.
