Knowledge@Wharton : Newspapers Find a Pulse - KnowledgeToday

I am a big fan of New York Times and use their brilliant website for reading articles that are of real quality. Having said that, I don't think I would pay $700 [considering I 'can't'] for NYT web subscription. The problem that traditional newspapers like NYT have is that due to the co-existence of the vibrant social media, I still get access to a huge variety of filtered, high-quality content from a diverse set of producers. Closing itself up with paid subscriptions like the Wall Street Journal has done is only going to limit the vast potential that NYT has.

I am pretty convinced that I need to vote but your post has dampened my spirits because according to the schedule on the ECI website, the registration in my constituency has finished on 23rd November 2008 only. I don't think it is possible that the college issues individual letters to each and every student. (My college has 12000 students). It is better if the college or the ECI sets up a voter registration center inside campus. They don't need to do that also as they can just use the student database that every college maintains. What kind of info do you want me to get?

VoteYatra Blog : Want to vote but cant? Here's why!

I am in a college and don't have the identity proof to get the voter id. Plus, I am not sure whether I am supposed to vote in my hometown Patna or here in Vellore where I am studying now. Also communicating here with government officials is a problem as many don't know English. Unless and until we have streamlined way of getting our voter cards, I think it is very difficult to convince the student population to vote.
