What a dilemma for Roger Ebert. Torn between his familiarity with cancer and his seemingly outright contempt for Christians and conservatism, he must, I assume, review a feel good film that may attract crowds of both Christians and conservatives as well as someone that deals with cancer in a positive way. Should this be a very positive film in all respects I can see the thumbs down now. I hope Roger gets well both physically and mentally.

Please go forward with continued optimism. This reaction by liberal musicians is consistent. When Clinton used the Fleetwood Mac song during his campaign it revived their career. When a conservative uses a song from some liberal songwriter or performer in the same manner they demand it be discontinued. The heck with any career potential. Thats just the way it will probably always be.

While I agree with you in principle I have my doubts ifone should use specifics too freely.
Lets say just for this discussion and it may or may not be my opinion ( political correctness again orsomeone will be offended either way)
What if I challenged Gay rights in general at every opportunity. The Gays on this site would probably complain of my efforts and call it abuse
and without name calling or being disrespectful I would probably be chastised by site monitor. If not here other places for certainty.
If my viewagainst equal rights in any form was too effusive, again, without name calling or being disrespectful I am pretty sure I would be warned
about my enthusiasm for the subject by the site monitor. I don't know this for a fact as it hasn't happened to me. But, just look aroundat the MSM
and political correctness in the educational system its not a minor problem. Ask Ann Coulter.

I'm not blaming a single issue to the rise of abortions or children of children. The whole permissive society we are a part of is responsible. Nor am I passing judgement on the value of the show so much as pointing out the changes in values in the past however many years that makes a program like that possible. I hope the program is successful in reducing "out of wedlock children," a phrase that is becoming politically incorrect and should also tell us something, by the way.

I am quite serious. I'm sure events as you describe went on but not anywhere to the degree that they have now. 50 million or so abortions since Roe vrs Wade. You can describe all the so called " back alley abortions" with a coat hanger you care to but it hardly justifies the extent of of baby exterminations they have now. Comparing what was the norm in 1950 and to what is now happening as similar is just crazy.

Debbie has so many issues with so many folks that its difficult to keep up. From Golda Meir to Sarah Palin and everyone in between she has found fault with them all. Many have commented favorably on her passion for Israel and all things Jewish but she puts you off in so many ways she is difficult to stay with. I am certainly not qualified to judge but I believe she needs help as her paranoia seems to be getting the best of her. I do wish her the very best.

Early to mid 20th century: No TV or very little. Certainly no programs of this type. Large percentage of people and children attended to church. Mother stayed home and nurtured their children. School was attended and Health class of course. No sex optional classes or condoms offered. I could go on but the point is out of wedlock pregnancies of school age children almost nonexistent. You have drawn your own conclusions of the value of such programs as abortion rates rise.

One would think the difficulties encountered by the pregnant teenagers shown would provide sufficent reasons why a young male or female would think before indulging in at best no sex or secondarily, at least, protected sex. I say It will make absolutely no difference at all. The show has very little impact. Tho the Octomom is an exception she still represents to a degree those that don't see the difficulties being faced by the unmarried pregnant teens as difficulties. Unless they are being taught at home or at church the moral implications as well as the obvious difficulties they will be faced with there is no chance it will be effective as a deterent to the ever growing abortion problem. Hormones, no moral base and worst case, availability of easy access to abortion possibly without parents knowledge and you have TV programs as this one. Thank you 60s generation, again your liberal/progressive impact is felt.
