That is really disappointing, damn. Thanks for the source, I tried scrolling through his twitter myself but it was a lot of pictures from cons and stuff about Tron/B5 so I got a little lost and must've missed that.

Wait, do you have a source for Bruce Boxleitner being a Trump supporter? I was looking around and trying to find one, but I couldn't find anything. I'm not trying to cast doubt or anything, that's just genuinely upsetting. I grew up watching Tron and Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and he was one of my favorite actors. So that's incredibly disappointing.

BIG SAME. Every so often (usually at least once or twice an episode) I just sigh over how painfully handsome Bruce Boxleitner is. And certain things in this episode, like the moment you mentioned, remind me so much of Lee Stetson (his character in Scarecrow and Mrs. King) and it makes me v happy.

BRUCE BOXLEITNER!!

Aka the main reason I wanted to start watching this show. TRON was a staple movie of my childhood, and my mom loves Scarecrow and Mrs. King from when she was growing up so we watched all of that when I was in high school. I'm so on board with Sheridan's character so far and I'm v excited to see where this goes!

I'm a little behind Mark on my watching so maybe no one will see this comment but I just wanted to say there was a small moment in this episode that I really appreciated (besides all the great things everyone else has already said). After the Psi Cops did their whole painful scan thing on Talia, Ivanova is the one who slides her a glass of water. It's such a little gesture but I thought it was a great character note. She may have her issues (v well founded and reasonable ones, for that matter) with the Psi Corps and she may not have any interest in a friendly relationship with Talia, but that doesn't mean she wants to see her hurt and pushed around.

A soul hunter can process oxygen “as well”? As well as what? How many things could a living creature possibly breathe?

I mean...not to be pedantic but even on our planet there are many different terminal electron acceptors that serve the same purpose as oxygen in cellular respiration. This includes nitrogen compounds, sulfur compounds, certain metals (like iron, magnesium, manganese, and zinc). Some organisms can even use organic compounds as terminal electron acceptors, though they don't work very well. Granted, as far as I know everything that can use something besides oxygen as the TEA is prokaryotic, but I think we can give scifi a little wiggle room there. It's conceptually possible for a multicellular eukaryotic organism to use something besides oxygen, we just don't because it's the best, most abundant TEA out there.

(I hope this doesn't come across as sassy or rude, I know you were probably making a joke, but I'm a microbiology student and I've been passionate about bacteria and biology my whole life so I have a tendency to ramble. Plus I literally just took a class on metabolism last semester so it's decently fresh in my brain.)

I believe that the only orders that Pearl was compelled to obey were ones given by Pink as herself. We see her shift to her diamond form to give Pearl the order to never speak of it, and she puts Pearl's hands over her mouth. Granted, that may have been a way to show the reveal and make the foreshadowing of all those times Pearl covered her mouth pay off, but I think it is still an important point. So I don't think that the "don't ever stop" thing was a Command in the same way that Pearl's silence was.

That being said, it still doesn't erase the imbalance of the power dynamic or the complicated questions surrounding consent. It just means that I don't think Pearl was compelled to continue loving Rose/Pink in the same way she was compelled to keep silent.

Gosh, Lapis's song was just...it's so beautiful and I have SO MANY FEELINGS. She breaks my heart and I just want her to feel safe and comforted and AGH. Honestly I relate to Lapis a lot, maybe not as much for where I am in my life currently but certainly for where I used to be, and it was actually through seeing her character that I started letting myself feel more compassion for my younger self rather than shame. If that makes sense. So yeah, I know people may not understand or agree with her behaviors and choices but her character means the world to me.

I've also seen it discussed as a "how not to be an ally" type thing.

I would love to see Skinny and Lapis meet. That would be a snark-fest for the ages. I saw someone post that assuming gems of the same types always produce the same resulting fusion, it would be really interesting to see a stable, healthy Malachite. It's not something that I'd necessarily want to see happen, but it would be kinda fascinating.
