Aka the main reason I wanted to start watching this show. TRON was a staple movie of my childhood, and my mom loves Scarecrow and Mrs. King from when she was growing up so we watched all of that when I was in high school. I'm so on board with Sheridan's character so far and I'm v excited to see where this goes!

I mean...not to be pedantic but even on our planet there are many different terminal electron acceptors that serve the same purpose as oxygen in cellular respiration. This includes nitrogen compounds, sulfur compounds, certain metals (like iron, magnesium, manganese, and zinc). Some organisms can even use organic compounds as terminal electron acceptors, though they don't work very well. Granted, as far as I know everything that can use something besides oxygen as the TEA is prokaryotic, but I think we can give scifi a little wiggle room there. It's conceptually possible for a multicellular eukaryotic organism to use something besides oxygen, we just don't because it's the best, most abundant TEA out there.
(I hope this doesn't come across as sassy or rude, I know you were probably making a joke, but I'm a microbiology student and I've been passionate about bacteria and biology my whole life so I have a tendency to ramble. Plus I literally just took a class on metabolism last semester so it's decently fresh in my brain.)

That being said, it still doesn't erase the imbalance of the power dynamic or the complicated questions surrounding consent. It just means that I don't think Pearl was compelled to continue loving Rose/Pink in the same way she was compelled to keep silent.
