Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Vent - through May 3rd

Hey Heckler, with the way this country is going we either cry or laugh about it, and I would much rather laugh so bring the humor. Just one word of caution, humans are a visual creature and sometimes its hard to tell in a forum like this if the person is being funny, serious, or a nut job. Not specifically pointing you out, just making a statement... unless you are a nut job :) <--- mandatory happy face disclaimer to show you that I am joking

I do know what the military is supposed to be used for, kill people and take land. Period. Reference for that last statement is my 20 years in the military. Using the military as a police force takes away from their intended use, kind of like using an atomic bomb to go deer hunting, sure it will do the job, but do really want to deal with the aftermath. Breaking the state and local law does not warrant using the military. The military is first trained to take out the situation, and once you start imposing different rules of engagement it causes errors. The posse comitatus act was designed to stop that, however it has been changed so that the president can use the military whenever he deems it necessary for the good of the country.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/23/09: FDA Wants 17yr Olds To Have The Morning After Pill w/o Prescription

OK first everyone step back on your notions of this pill and think of this, my kid can get kicked out of school for taking aspirin (zero tolerance), has to be 21 to buy cough syrup and cold medicine let alone prescription drugs. 18 for cigarettes, 21 for beer, 18 to get a tattoo, but to get their agenda through they will lower the age to 17 for this drug.

I try to use the old adage of quick to praise, slow to criticize, meaning I will give thumbs up without comments quite readily, but try to reserve the thumbs down without a comment to the obvious trolls.

Dumpa I watched yesterday as this first hit the news. Last night 2 kids in CA and 7 kids in Mexico had had it but recovered fine, doctors said nothing to worry about it responded well to normal medicine. Today it was reported that 7 people in the US have it and 60 people died in Mexico. Tonight I forgot to change the channel fast enough and NBC reported that it was deadly and nothing helped and we're all going to die. Hmm kind of funny that the news story changed so rapidly so fast.

Me personally I can't say. It has been done before many times so anyone who says it can't or won't happen hasn't looked at the history. During WW2 japanese american citizens were rounded up and put in camps, even as family members joined the military they were rounded up. During the civil war, the Army and Navy were called upon to shoot Americans, in New York City. The Marine Corp was assigned to guard the US Mail during a major crime wave. During the LA riots national guard were posted, during Katrina people were rounded up. The deciding factor in these cases were it's for the good of the country. So depending what the circumstances are depends...

alcade when I heard the guy with the chainsaw I had to laugh, the idea was just as absurd as most of the stuff coming from the greenies. The hard part is to try to decide what is the truth. What will save the planet, and what is propaganda and what is just to make money. As a conservative, I want trees, nature, and as little change to the planet as possible so I can enjoy camping, fishing and hunting. And I like it without traces of man around. It's just there is so much information and misinformation that common sense has gone out the window. I also agree with you that the Kyoto treaty is wrong, but again so much propaganda went into it that common sense was left out again.

In the last census I posted my race as American. I want the census reports to show that there was only one American in America.

OK I expect my rating to go down but I have to say it anyway. Waterboarding is torture, plain and simple. Now before the flames start tie in a couple of things, first have you noticed that every military person that has been on either Glenn Beck or Bill O'Reilly have said the same thing. The only person in the last presidential race that was in the military said the same thing. Before we all get on the I'm a vet thing, so am I, and we vets know that we all don't agree on everything, I guarantee that if you held someone in your basement and did the same thing you would be charged with torture. Now with that said was it necessary, I don't know, I wasn't there. Did it get information that saved lives, again I don't know, I wasn't there. I doesn't seem like was a spur of the moment thing since it had to go to the president and congress and get the OK before it happened. But it's hard to look down your nose at somebody for doing something, if your doing the same thing.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Mission Statement

Great job everyone! I was proud of everyone of you that made their statement in a rational manner. I still saw congressmen and even the president try to ague with the statements, when will they learn that WE ALLOW THEM to govern. I agree that more is needed, I think 9/12/09 is to far away and I don't quite feel that protesting on the 4th of July is respectful.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

I disagree with term limits, for a couple of reasons. First I should have the right to vote for whoever I want as long as they meet the qualifications of the constitution. Second here in California they have term limits for the State representatives. It doesn't stop anything, as one State Senator reaches their limit they move to the house and visa versa. After they've used up all that then the Governor appoints them to some board where they have cushy jobs that pay may then before. What is needed is complete campaign reform. No perks for elected officials, free stamps and mailings, no congressional trips that are really campaigning. If Obama wants socialism do it at the campaign level. All contributions go into a fund which is split between the runners.
