.8% is so low, hopefully it doesn't continue in this pattern. Although cheaper gas has been nice!
Having a great parent can mean the difference between a young man suddenly with a ton of money blowing it or wisely investing it. Walter Gretzky seems to have helped to give Wayne a great head on his shoulders; he is one of the few athletes I truly look up to.
All great ideas! Handing cash to someone is so tacky. A card is $1, you're right ! That's the peak of laziness not to even bother grabbing one. Gift cards are great, I'd have a great time scratching a bunch of scratch cards, and liquor is great too. It's fun to get some flavoured Bailey's or something around the holidays too.
Interesting to learn that there is a penalty for switching TFSA providers in the same calendar year.
I think it's great for a kid to open a TFSA, but to gift money so that they can deposit the maximum $5500 is a little bit ridiculous for the average person that can't afford that.
Wow those are some great deals ! Way to go! I haven't traveled anywhere lately, but I am planning on going somewhere in the new year and will definitely take a look at travelzoo!
The only reason to use a credit card at all would be to get some small rewards and pay it off in full each month. Otherwise, the interest rates, even the low rates, are going to cost you.
One of my best vehicles in the winter weather was a subaru hatchback with AWD. I didn't even need to use snow tires, just some all seasons and I never had a problem!
I'm surprised and happy to hear that 60% of Canadians think they are in good shape. Hopefully that means people are being a bit more active. Not great on the fiscal front, but I think people know what to do to get in better financial shape (spend less) but they need to be motivated to change and not get into further debt.
It is very disheartening that people will manipulate and take advantage of people, especially when it is people in their own family, or people that they are hired to take care of.
