I hate that area. I've come real close to being rear-ended to let someone walked across. Then there are the a-holes who go around the stopped cars and nearly hit people. They need at least a pedestrian activated flashing amber light there, like further up on TV Highway, and there are a couple in Forest Grove, too. Or something like we have in Cornelius, a ped. activated signal, they hit the cross-walk button and moments later- red light!

I hope those kids will be ok.

That was my first thought too :-( Hollywood pressure, it wouldn't surprise me much. Such a horrible waste of talent.

She was a really good actress. The movie The Dead Girl, is ironically one of my favorite movies of all time. She was really good in that one.

That program saved my younger brother. My parents sent him there in 1998. He was provided with after-care; he went to a boarding school in Sisters that works specifically with at-risk youth. All the other students there at the time had also gone to SageWalk.

That said, other than CPR, I wonder what other first-aid training the employees have. Were they trained in noticing the signs of heat distress? Children are more prone to heat related illness/injury- granted he was in his mid-teens, that could still have been a major contributing factor. I know Red Cross has a program for Sports Injury Prevention & Management, I've had to take that.

I think someone did drop the ball there, and as a result a kid is dead. But homicide? I think that's a major stretch.

Since it wasn't gang-related, I'd put money on it being drug-related. This town is one giant meth-lab explosion waiting to happen. I hate this town.

I really can't stand PETA and I'm a vegan. It's none of my business what other people eat and it's none of theirs either. Being vegan is a choice I made, and it's not my place or anyone else's to go around telling other people what they should or shouldn't be eating. I can't take PETA seriously. They pull stupid-a** stunts like this, all it does is draw attention *away* from their message and they just come across as the morons that they are. So yeah... There are vegans and vegetarians that can't stand them. I'm one of them lol. We're not all PETA nut-jobs.

After last winter, the hot days we've had so far this summer have been really nice, I'm looking forward to more. It'd be nice to have a little bit of rain though. My water bill has been a little on the expensive side from having to water the lawn more than usual.
