my son was the same way Lizbeth .... and I thought phew - I can keep my potty mouth and they won't repeat me. Well, yea..... a few months ago he started picking up on it and repeating it. My quite verbal 13yo son was/is (?) going through a phase like this. Honestly, the thing that worked the best is to watch my OWN potty mouth (i've gotten a lot better in the last few weeks! go meeee!) because he is very echolailic and repeats and repeats and repeats! But it seems like with THOSE words, he's on constant repeat cause he knew they were bad and we were reacting. If *I* don't say them, and when he DOES say them, I give absolutely zero reaction, he doesn't use them. he's rotten, what can I say?! LOL

Glen, I wish you much success with your book! I'm hoping to buy the actual book soonish and give to my son's teacher as an autism awareness month present! While she's not the parent of an autistic child, she teaches a class of autistic children and I think it could be helpful for her. :) Thank you so much for the look into your life! Thanks for the input Kristen. In the grand scheme of things, this will not really change anything for us. I will fight it if the school tries to attach an MR label to my son's IEP, as he truly is NOT. He appears that way in testing but if you see him in every day to day situations, you'd know that he isn't. I wanted this as a basis of what he's able to do, so we can come up with attainable and GOOD IEP goals. We're working with an IEP and goals that really aren't helping him any. We'll see. I also just requested FULL-scale testing (the whole gammut) through the school since he's never had full-scale testing done except in 2001 and 2007. It's Loooonnnnngggg overdue.
