All of these women are incredible, but does anyone know who #9 is, and where she might have a few more photos? Also, how does one go about attaching the picture to one of these posts? Thanks for the info.

Macleans.ca : Looking north

That is absolutely what caused it. It wasn't just ethnic borrowers - everyone could borrow under this law. People were speculating, and they went crazy. This helped drive the prices up, and the spiral kept going up.

Not similar at all. The states had a 'sub prime' problem because they instituted a law that allowed 'sub prime' lenders into the market. Some actually argue that it was a racist law. It allowed, actually it forced, lenders to allow people without the means to qualify for mortgages. Allowing for longer term mortgages, or zero down mortgages, in and of themselves are not bad things. Allowing for 110% mortgages, or mortgages to people with bad/no credit, or no jobs is another thing entirely. As house prices climb, we may need to look at these in the future.

My first thought was that Aaron was trying to tie Harper in with the Republican party. That would have been a funny attempt. I actually think that it is kind of cool - having the Americans learn a thing or two from us. Seeing as how our economy is highly dependent on theirs, I would expect that we would all want there books to get in line in a hurry. Lets hope that someone gives Harper a call. Nice how he stresses that Harper's plan was to emphasize lower taxes, to win the election. After reading all the people posting on these blogs, I could have sworn that it was all won by attack ads aimed at MI. Nice to see someone give us, as voters, more credit than that.

Macleans.ca : How in God’s name do you explain?

"Liberals, even when in opposition, are always surprised when they meet someone who isn't a liberal. They tend to believe everyone looks at the world the way they do, everyone is on the same team." Brilliant. I have said this myself, and been criticized for it. The reason the Liberals lost is their almost total disconnection from reality. They (like anyone with an opinion) feel that they are right. The difference between them and others, is their belief that anyone who opposes their beliefs is uneducated/stupid/ignorant. Basically, they believe everyone will eventually end up thinking as they do. Their fatal flaw is that they cannot comprehend that their opponents have well thought our opinions. They cannot understand their opponents beliefs as rational, and therefore dismiss anyone who holds the beliefs. I feel this is why conservatives seem to feel that the media is unfair to them. It is in the way that the conservative are 'opposed' in the media. It has this idea, behind the stories, that only stupid people can think this way, and the reporter (obviously to themselves) is not stupid. The story sometimes has that feel to it. When liberals are 'attacked' in the media, it is usually on policy or on something the person has said/done.

Macleans.ca : 'We are all judged by it'

The next parliament will be 'nicer' as it has a majority government, and less opportunity for brinkmanship. It will change, not because the players have changed, but because the dynamics have changed. And certainly not because Glen asks for it. As a side note, can we expect to not hear/see Justin as much this time around?
