It concerns me as well, this type of attitude. I was really mad when they didn't put up a silhouette of my own personal "The Catch" when I caught that foul ball one handed while sipping on a beer. One of the finer moments in Shea and, well, let's face it, Mets history. Fred Wilpon you monster.

I don't get this "they've been playing like this for the past 2 years" stuff already. I'm not going to rehash all the specifics of why they choked the past 2 years, thats not the point I'm going to make, but they still managed to win A BUNCH of games the past 2 seasons and miss the playoffs by 1 game each of those years. Like, if they magically started having this mystical KILLER INSTINCT would they have won 100 plus games the past 2 seasons? I don't think a lot of people get how the game of baseball or a baseball season plays out. I look at it like this; if they win a couple more games the past 2 years at any random point during those seasons it basically just means people would have complained less for a couple less days on this blog.

Listen, I dislike the guy as much as most people do, but to say this isn't a low risk/potentially medium/high reward deal is absurd, especially if this involves the release of Marlon. The man is crappy in the clubhouse, blah blah blah, whatever. The whole notion of team chemistry playing a major factor in how a team performs in baseball, which is essentially an individual sport when broken down, is vastly overplayed by fans and hack media writers.
