Breitbart.com : Davos elites to seek reforms of \'outdated\' capitalism

Well, I'm heartened to see that most folks on the comment sheet have nailed it. Unfortunately I'm not as confident that the "eating at the trough" dependency class can even understand the argument.

Breitbart.tv : George Will Handles Christiane Amanpour and Meghan McCain on 'This Week' Round Table

I'm wondering if the highly intelligent and deeply thinking liberal spokespersons in this country might consider refraining from the nauseating qualifyer "sort of". It is especially irritating coming from professional speakers, even though they believe it delivers an air of thinking and contemplation. NPR wouldn't have anything to broadcast if its reporters were prohibited from using it (oh ... actually I don't think Juan did it). Anyway, Christine is a ditz. And, Meghan is a ditz. And I am perfectly happy if "young people" stay home from voting until they are old enough to actually know anything to base a vote on. Looking forward to Tuesday.

Breitbart.com : Venezuela govt to nationalize 11 US-owned oil rigs

Helmerich won't have to do a thing to disable the rigs. Just shut them down and throw away all the operating instructions. Chavez's minions will not competently be able to operate them. In 6 months Helmerich can then approach Venezuela and negotiate a "consulting fee" to bring the rigs into operational condition. This can then be repeated.

WANE TV News Channel 15 Fort Wayne News, Weather and Sports Coverage : FWCS custodians oppose outsourcing idea

This is an obvious and much needed first step. There are large cost savings possible: health insurance, pension costs, administration human resources overhead required to manage the employee base, etc. The board is obligated to follow through. Next: food service and transportation.

Big Hollywood : Ed Begley Jr. Loses It On Fox News

Funny. Every time I hear one of these airheaded knuckleheads spew off, it makes it easier for me to save energy by turning my TV off. If they would only find "their personal contribution to mankind" in spending a little more family time raising responsible children who do not become drug addicted societal drains on the rest of us, things would be better. I try very hard not to support hollywood financially. Incidentally, it's many of the esteemed Doctor-Professors who have been whoring themselves for research funding by propping up the concept of global warming as valid. Most will not let something as insignificant as clear contrary data get in the way of continuing on. Not much different than alar or cold fusion, except the cost to the rest of us.

Breitbart.com : Canadians still \'distrust\' United States: poll

Canada is a small country with a large land mass. That insightful observation was made to me by a Canadian colleague. I like Canadians, and can sometimes even tolerate the Frenchies. Very pragmatic and straight-forward. But the government employees there - that is another matter entirely. Hmm. Let's see ... Take the typical level of American government employee efficiency, improve it significantly, but then add on a heap of condescention, arrogance and self-importance. There - now you have an average customs official (bullet proof vest for coming INTO CANADA ??? huh ???) or Provincial Park minion. .

Big Hollywood : The National Endowment for the Art of Persuasion?

It always been interesting to me, how certain ... endeavors contain concentrated populations of individuals who believe that someone else ("society" )is obligated to fund their interest / career / calling / obsession, while also maintaining absolutely no obligation to the funding source. No question - Obama administration is out of line here. But if you don't like it, get a job that pays you in proportion to your value to the organization and continue your art as a hobby. I don't ask you to fund my career; I'm honestly not interested in funding yours.

Time to get over it and move ahead, fellas. Talk about an industry that can't extricate itself from the self-annointed heyday of ~35 years ago. Main difference between now and then: nobody was/could watch the watchdogs then. Because of that, I take anything accepted as "given" based on journalistic reporting back then with a big grain of kosher salt.

I just referred to France in aggressive terms.
The gravy train isn't stopping at Grand Central Station any longer. Or at Union Station in Chicago. Or Detroit. These chickens are long past due their time to roost. The really sad part of this is that very few government employees will have a clue about what it takes to get and keep a job in the private sector. They haven't a clue.

thinking more about this ... Nancy Regan took up the cause of drug abuse, and was ridiculed for doing it. Jackie Kennedy devoted herself to the cause of fashion, jewelry, elegance and Camelot. The common thread seems to be Republican first ladies work in the sphere of outreach and charity, while Democratic wives devote their opportunity to inreach. Self absorbtion, self aggrandizement. Shallowness. Stinginess. In other words, typical liberal behavior.

Hmm. Lets see ... Barbra Bush took on the cause of championing reading for children. Hillary Clinton took on the cause of, well, herself I guess. Planning for the next big job. Laura Bush one - up'ed mom and championed both childhood literacy and women's rights in - lets be frank - Muslim countries. And now we have Michelle who has taken on three causes apparently. Oh, the boundless energy. Cause 1 = to become a fashion icon and work out frequently. Cause 2 = become a parappazzi or however the hell you spell it target. And, cause 3 is to address a major source of misery in the world - planting backyard gardens to promote healthy eating so as to make it easier to maintain 6-pack abs. Mrs Obama: most of the developing world already depend on, and have, backyard gardens. Its easy to do. If anyone wants a garden, they can have one. But, I suppose that real causes would cut too heavily into the workout and shopping schedule.
