Well, you can't say the City council is boring. How about Danny 'Moon Suit' Childes who's trying to call in the EPA feds to help him banish the evil driveway sealant. Anti-libertarian? I betcha Pelosi and Reid would love him.

KY3 : Bruner couple finds a way to eliminate electric bill | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO |

If they produce more electricity than they can consume or store they can sell it back to the utility at wholesale prices. It's called the net-metering law that was passed in the state several years ago. How the utility company handles it I don't know. The REA says they've allow it but I have yet to see an example. WildB With only 100 out of 720 (avg.) /month they'd have to have some sort of battery backup unless they're going to go with a grid intertie. Most battery backups have 500 charge/discharge cycle lives so there are on going costs associated with RE. For most of us, weatherization, energy-efficient products, etc. offer a better payoff but it would be nice to divorce ourselves from the grid and still maintain our present lifestyle.

KY3 : Federal trial begins Monday for Kansas church that protests military funerals | KY3 News, Weather, S

My personal opinion is that we should've given these Westboro folks a 21 gun salute at Cpl. Snyders funeral abet with with muzzles lowered toward them and live ammo. This church (sic) has been quite active: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westboro_Baptist_Chu... and without the shaved heads and swastikas, rather successful. They've been able to comply with existing law to spread their message. Scarey. P.S. scroll down to March 30, 2010, where it adds insult to injury.

Just fantastic. On the bright side, Earl Dorman's six figure salary is well protected along with the student fees leeched from the student body to pay for his SGA twerps in the student union basement. Public Affairs at its best!

Hmmm, dealing with UMH admin seems kinda suspcious anyway. Surprising UMH would want to dump MRC since they took it over from DHSS in 1996 or so. If the unthinkable did happen what would become of the DVA clinic?

It costs a lot of money to pass your pap? You could care less Josh as long as you can panhandle on peoples fear, pain & suffering running them around H.S. tracks or feeding rubber chicken at your SteerBoy balls. How come it takes nine months to collect 1000 petition signatures? The only results of the election nine months from now will be the new Mayor and city council members that will replace the ones who sign on to your edict.

Don't get me wrong, I'm from there and frankly, I don't care for any more company at the Monett UE office. If it's currently supporting itself why is there a problem about state funding? BTW, thanks for the NYTimes link. Interesting article I just might keep in my bookmarks folder. Just personal observation: It (sad) funny we can create such technology to stave off the onset of death but shirk at the unintended consequences in social and legal areas. Troubling.

Well, I'm no expert on how many patient to staff ratios should be but relying on a narrow range of aliments seems to be risky as far as a business plan. There are several floors of patient rooms that seem to go unused and wonder why some place that size could not offer more eclectic services. St. johns seems to have a stranglehold on delivering even the most basic of medical services. Perhaps a little competition wouldn't be a good thing. Sleep therapy for the VA? When I was in the problem was not getting enough sleep, LOL (Yes, I know it is a disorder, but I didn't have it, only after having children)

Sorry Mom, 420 full, 40 part time to care for 50 patients? That's a 9 to 1 ratio that would put any health care facility in the red fast. Besides 13 other facilities may well be doing the same job for less overhead. MRC is missing an opportunity to diversify into more than a head injury treatment facility alone. Although I have no idea why they can't do that though. Perhaps the Sister of No Mercy or the MHA have exclusive rights to deliever health care?

Look, I'm a born skeptic when a middle level civil servant, Katie mentioning tax incentives and subsidizing something. I'm from the government and I'm here to help you. Wonder where the money to compensate for these program will come from? An obscure study (I've tried to find the link, but failed so you'll have to take my word for it) from NZ said they've proved that obese people emit pheromones when consuming fattening meals that waft over to trigger the hunger response in nearby people. Bammo! Second hand Fat! It took from 1964 for FHS to 1987 to announce SHS. Another ten years and we'll have pheromones sticking to clothing and third hand fat. At my last physical I tipped in at 192# and 6'1" (yes, I know, you didn't know they could stack dung that high) and was asked if I'd consider going on a weight control program!

Maybe he'd want to check that pesky little provision in the MSA that makes it illegal to sponsor opposition to ACS campaigns. He should since he's getting his cut of the money before it gets to the states! Why isn't Lisa getting away from her ACS supplied fax machine and out doing investigating journalism like she spouts on those noisome KY3 news commercials? Guess not, I can see why it's easier to rebroadcast Josh's videos about San Diego Com. colleges science project where a butt was tossed into a five gallon bucket of minnows and three days later half died! Hey Lisa, there's these thing called bubblers and fish food!

You mean the War on Cancer declared in 1971? Well, 40 years later and an estimated 200 billion dollars later those nice folks of NCI, NHI, etc. that ACS endorses so much have come up with numerous cures for cancer.....as long as your first name is minnie or mickey! But, hey, what's that compared to panhandling for money on the fear, pain, & suffering of those folks they run around Fairground EXPO.
Carrie is really good at distancing her affiliation from ACS and making the alliance appear as a local group. American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, 64105 (that's Kansas City) 1.8162187193, kierstenwilson@cancer.org. Whats the matter Carrie? Aren't local ISP hosts good enough for you? Don't let her Berkley SDS type cutsey-ness fool you!
Not to worry, Carrie & her gnatzi brain slugs are making a deal with Mayor Jimbo in 'smoke filled rooms' as we speak free from the prying eyes of the public spotlight. After biting ACSs' poison apple, the police/firefighter fiasco, and the red-light camera mess They'll be thumbing a ride home on Chestnut.
