March 26, 2009 Bachmann bill would ban global currency @ 1:31 pm by Eric Zimmermann Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has introduced legislation that would "bar the dollar from being replace by any foreign currency." A statement from Bachmann's website: “Yesterday, during a Financial Services Committee hearing, I asked Secretary Geithner if he would denounce efforts to move towards a global currency and he answered unequivocally that he would," said Bachmann. "And President Obama gave the nation the same assurances. But just a day later, Secretary Geithner has left the option on the table. I want to know which it is. The American people deserve to know." On Monday, Geithner and Bernanke both rejected the idea of a global currency in Congressional testimony. But in remarks to the Council on Foreign Relations yesterday, Geithner indicated he was open to the idea.

We have such little information to go on, I have a dream of a transparent and honest debate of this whole Economy issue. it will never happen. that is untill we get some honest people in office with the fortitued to believe in the American people. I still want to know who withdrew the 550 Billion Dollars that Kanjorski D-PA spoke of ..once we own up to that then perhaps we can judge if it will truely bottom out this year. Wow, the responses from some of the bloggers are an interesting glimpses of their jealousies! I know what I earn, and I know there are others who earn more. I also know there are those who earn less. I have elected to improve myself with education and increase my worth to my employer. I have found jealousy has never increased my salary much less my net worth. For those of us who may be slipping into the trap being set by bureacates and so called problem solvers, we must be wary, in my view we are fool's to harkin to that sirens' call. What we can do for ourselves is strive to become somthing better. The worst thing we can do is step in the trap being set and find ourselves ensneared by mediocrity and commonality. I want to be better than I am now. I will be. I never want to find I am simply common. P.S. I'm curious! I know where I live and I'm wondering if my outlook is just a regional concern or mentality. How about when we chat in the future we simply (generally) indicate where we live? Is it possible that my views are held nationwide? Western Colorado

OK that is great advice as long as everyone who wants to do this UNDERSTANDS what a witholding is. what I mean is this, you have to be able to pay your taxes at the end of the year, the Idea of a witholding is to ensure the money is there to pay it. While its a fun Idea I hear too many people say things like a with holding is so you get money back...WRONG ... dont forget that unless we have complete civil unrest we are still a nation of laws, and while the government is acting as though they are immune then we need to help protect those who dont understand they will still have to pay that money at the end of the year.

I have called my congresswoman , both senators, I also contacted the Denver Post, Peter Boyles and the Grand Junction Sentinal. the problem arcticfarmer is that these people are suppressing this issue. did you notice the news coverage on the Bus tour yet how much news coverage was their on the Tea Party's? if you believe for one minute that you will get fair coverage on this you are soarly mistaken. I agree Jerseygal, but the question I have is this. with so many people out there whom hold such a small understanding of the foundations of Capitalism, the free market, and Individual rights, how are we supposed to lump all that on their plate and expect them to swallow it? I know guys who have 4 year degrees from universities that had no idea Russia also invaded poland, they have no Idea at all the idea behind individual responsibuility much less debating green policy over cap and trade.
