Not sure.

I am able to reason with words so most likely would never get to this point. If it did, I am fully able to defend myself.

I don't view a srewdriver as a deadly weapon. To do so is a pretty major stretch.

Knife, gun, bomb, that's a deadly weapon. Screwdriver? Come on.

Did this cop not have a tazer, pepper spray, baton, etc.... please.

Sorry this is about as justified as the cop who shot the guy driving away (key words) in the back until he was dead. Again many came in here and defended the cops actions. Luckily a thorough investigation found it to be unjustified and he was terminated (should have been prosecuted).

No offense Woodinville but this is a statistic based on per 10,000 in the general population which means it's an average. So the overall number is not what made it on this list but the average per 10,000 citizens which makes it an apple to apple argument.

That said, you are correct in saying more crime does occur in larger populous cities than in smaller.

Justthinkin you believe in the Republican Philosophy. In no way would I ever say that makes you stupid sir. We are all entitled to believe what we think is right hopefully without being judged.

I too was a republican right up through college. As is still my family.

After living in the "real" world for the past 20 years post college I have come to realize the error in the republican way of thinking.

Not true.

Texas as a state required you carry a gun from the moment of birth and look they have the highest rate of crime vs ANY other state.

This is from an article in the king5 news website

specifically

"We now know that one of the handguns used by Maurice Clemmons in the murders of the four Lakewood police officers last month was stolen from a home in King County three years ago. Christopher Monfort, accused of killing Seattle police officer Tim Brenton, had an arsenal in his apartment, including three high-powered rifles. David Crable, the Pierce County deputy shooter, was allowed to own firearms despite a violent history. Police found a cache of weapons in his home, including a .357 handgun, an AK-47 remake and a sniper rifle. It's still unclear where all those guns came from."

bottom line is our laws are way to easy for people to own guns. So both good and bad get them and it keeps the supply running high for ANYONE who wants a gun.

How many colleges have lost 31 people to a car or knife in one 5 minute period of time?

Sorry Boeing I will dumb it down for you...

Guns are made for killing. Preferred method of killing by anyone who wants to kill many in a short period of time. Because we have laws which make it so easy to get a gun lots of people both good and bad have them including the guy who shot the two deputies a few days ago. He was legally allowed to have a gun so he did.

Now are you understanding me?

I tried to word it in a way my 5 year old would get and he was able to understand what I was saying.

No offense but it's Sir but madam is fine in here for all intents and purposes ;)

Well my stats are from 2008 the most current completed year.

2009 is sure to be unkind to seattle as yes there has been an increase of violence there larger than most cities.

For the record Texas also has more cities than any other state in the list of most violent. Which tells me that whatever they are doing it's not working as a deterent to violent crime.

Most of Texas is republican also as we all know which translates to fewer available dollars to policing and any government programs to help keep those out of the wrong way of the track.
