Don't forget property taxes. With the rate of foreclosure, there's alot of lost income there too.

I am by no means an economist, but I would think it's pretty hard to predict sales and foreclosures. With an income tax, that's probably a little easier (though still volatile) to predict in other states.

I hate that I'm defending them. I am upset we're in this position - and I agree with the other poster that said they are going to "teach us a lesson" in the special session for not approving tax increases. Can't wait to see the new "budget".

Alright, well then... someone needs to take a long hard look at what this company is allowing to sell for profit. I am all for free speech, but I agree with many who have suggested that it may be time to review the first amendment. When it comes to profiting off of how-to books that promote, enable and sensationalize raping children, creating explosives and encouraging terrorism? That's not okay.

You will never ever see me encouraging more government oversight, but THIS is an exception.

I bet if anyone tries to sell a book "How to make a bomb in the name of terrorism" that Amazon wouldn't sell it. How about a pattern for a suicide vest? It's illegal and endangers lives.

How is this any different? It's illegal and endangers lives - and children's lives as that. I'm sickened and saddened.
