Well, whether or not they got into the garbage can or not, it looks to me that they pretty much destroyed the trash can anyway. If they are still ATTRACTED to it and they still TRY to get into the trash can, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? Judging from the pictures, it doesn't look like the bears gave up on trying to get into the trash can, instead they tried to destroy it, even dragging it into the water.

I would think it would be better if the trash can was "smell-proof" as to not attract the bears in the first place. I don't think anyone really cares about the garbage itself, it's that they don't want bears in and around their yards.

Or maybe bears are smart enough that they can actually tell the difference between these "bear-proofed" trash cans and "regular" trash cans, so they'll only go after the "regular" trash cans. I kind of doubt it, but maybe after a few tries they know not to come back to that particular location??

Yeah, what ever happened to "pick on someone your own size"!?! Seriously though, people are sick and will assault anyone these days, regardless of age. Sick and sad.

Thanks, it looks like they had removed the video for a while. There was no helicopter there a few hours ago. Looks like it's back, as I can see it now. :-)
