Well HGTV, I think it's time for me to put my Smart Home dreams to rest. I gave myself a full week to allow my mind every crazy far fetched story it could dream up involving me being the winner, but I think it's time to embrace that this might be someone else's dream come true now.
I'm sad to report all is quiet in my neck of the woods. I've seen nary a balloon or camera crew anywhere in sight.... Since I'm laid up with a leg broken in multiple spots, believe me, I've had plenty of time to be looking.
Something in me is telling me it is going to happen tonight. Chalk it up to HGTV induced delirium, or what have you, but that is what I'm telling myself anyways :-)
Could be. But Carley also lives in LA. And of course that's making an assumption, that she is part of ambush team...HGTV sure loves to keep us guessing :-)
Since the pre notification call keeps coming up, I thought I'd chime in my two cents about what I think that means. I think because so many folks use cell phones these days instead of land lines, when hgtv does the background check they can search the phone line type the winner provided on their entry form. If it comes back that is it is a landline, it's a great way for HGTV to keep the winner in an isolated location for an ambush. So they make the phone call that says that they are a finalist, and for them to stay by the phone on an anticipated day and time. I think the folks who enter with cell phone numbers don't receive that call, and this explains why some folks receive the advanced phone call and some don't. I think the winners that we see that HGTV has involved a family member, Might be folks that enter with a cell phone number. That way they can be at a specific location at a certain date and time so that HGTV can do the ambush
It's just my theory and I'll take off my detective hat now :-)

Well I've done my research for the morning... Carley is currently in LA, about to appear on a local news station later this morning, so if she's part of an ambush this evening, she'll have to get on a plane (maybe?) lickety split.

I officially had my first mini heart attack of the Smart Home ambush season. A random mini van pulled up width wise across my driveway. Not only did I almost fall off the sofa, but I actually yelled out "HGTV" and sent my dog in to fits of chaos. It turns out they were just trying to make a U-turn. Whoops!! Sorry for the ruckus neighbors.
