Maybe it wasn't officer himself, but why were the police dealing with it? They are suppose to "fight crime" not kill wildlife .... right?

@Edward
Maybe if you didnt kill the coyotes and the bear it could keep the deer, mice, rat, rabbit, etc populations lower ... There is a food chain. You cut off one of those animals and it ruins the entire balance. Do you even know how many animals have become extinct just because we began with killing ONE? As for all the animals being slaughtered for food, we also belong on the food chain. But the cattle that we raise for food also pose a problem as they release high Carbon Dioxide levels which in a sense are harmful to the environment. Only because we have caused a greenhouse effect due to all the builup of CO2 from cars, factories etc. (aka global warming) Every action has a reaction ...

and who has a bush that costs $1,000???

My first question is : why were the POLICE dealing with it? Aren't there animal control people for this. To the person who said bears don't belong in residential areas : who was here first. The animals or our houses?
I also recall a coyote being killed a few months ago. I believe there was also a video of the coyote that they shot, who was sitting along the edge of the road, not moving and not "attacking" anybody. We kill all of this wildlife then wonder why populations of rabbits, rats, deer and mice go up. But then we just kill those too ...
i think that everything should be thought about. And not just the people. Thank you very much for thinking of us first. But what are you doing to the environment. If you destroy that you eventually destroy us too ... And yes i understand it was ONE bear. But then one turns into two, two to four and so on, until we reach hundereds.
I think that we already have enough environmental problems to worry about. Why create more?
