Wow, youaretellinme! We're talking about a teenager who took the wrong path and paid a hideous, permanent price for it. She's living without a face, which seems unbearable to me, but you're living without compassion, without mercy, without a heart. Your loss may be even worse than hers.

I wonder if officials in Oregon and southern Washington are reminding hunters and hikers to be alert for pieces of Kyron's clothing or indications of a hasty burial. Though people might not want to consider the possibility that Kyron is dead, it would be better, in the long run, for Kyron's parents to know he's dead than to always agonize over the terrible things that might have happened, as the Holloway family has had to do.

It was thoughtless and unkind of KATU to quote the searcher who said she and her dog were looking for "bones," though human remains would be what the searchers were looking for.

But didn't someone say, weeks ago, that the "pings" could also have indicated some place near Sauvie Island?

Well, at least LE has gone from saying nothing much to giving us weird riddles to puzzle over. The riddledoes sound as though there's some awful knowledge they've uncovered, but if they had found Kyron's remains, I'm sure they'd be legally required to inform the parents immediately. Since the parents are going on Oprah tomorrow, they obviously haven't received any terrible news lately. Maybe the bad stuff they've found out is just stuff about Terri's past. With all the people who care about this case, you'd think they could get enough volunteers to search a large area each week.

Now that three months have gone by, and an unprecedented search effort has produced no indication whatsoever of Kyron's whereabouts, I'm wondering if it's actually kind to encourage the parents (via parties, balloons, wall of hope, etc.) to think that Kyron's alive. It's normal and natural for the parents to be in denial re the odds of his being alive after all this time, but our encouraging that denial may not be the best thing for them in that it postpones their grieving process, the process that is the beginning of healing. Some healing anyway---I'm sure they'll never fully heal from this horror. Maybe it would make sense to offer DeDe Spicher immunity from prosecution in exchange for her full cooperation. Better for her to go free than for the parents to never know what happened to their little boy. Dede will never be free, anyway, nor will Terri. They'll be in the predicament O.J. Simpson was in after his homicide acquittal, treated as outcasts. No jobs, no new friends, no respect from others.
