No, it wasn't. And Jeter didn't homer off Benitez in '96. And Brady fumbled in the snow at Foxboro Stadium. But the defining moment of this season was not a blown call. It was the season this team showed they're a force to be reckoned with in this conference. And I don't think we've heard the last of them.

I've seen him play in person a few times, and the radio station I work at carries the Pawtucket games. He's below average defensively, but believed to be better in the corner outfield positions. Left field is probably where his future would be.

He can be a solid major league bench player... Lefty bat, below average defensively, won't wow anybody with his glove, but he won't cost you ballgames. Also, those numbers are with a historically bad Pawtucket team offensively. That .279 AVG leads the team by 36 points, the OBP by 34 points, and he leads the team in home runs, RBI, slugging, extra base hits, hits, and runs scored. It's not like the Mets are getting a top 10 prospect, but they are getting a guy who can contribute at the major league level, and has the tape measure power necessary to hit the ball out of Citi Field.

I am in favor of anything that will get the Wilpons to spend money on something other than Dodgers/Giants tributes. Maybe a trade? A free agent signing? 1986 throwbacks? ANYTHING???
